It’s not “losing money” any more than air traffic controllers or public highways or street lights or fire departments are “losing money.” It is a government service. It’s not SUPPOSED to make money. It’s supposed to reliably deliver to anywhere in the US, even the unprofitable places.
The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

I know some people may have thought the purpose of scholarship was to create and refine better understandings of the world while winnowing and weeding out incorrect and obsolete ideas, but what if we just gave all the ideas equal time all the time instead of discarding the dumb and immoral ones?

This is ever more evidence of the shrinking influence of white evangelicals in Trump's second term (as opposed to rad trads and groypers and Millerites and broligarchs etc). International adoption by evangelical families is literally an article of faith. See: @kathrynajoyce.bsky.social
On that last post: I genuinely cannot think of any good-faith reason to bar international adoptions from those 39 countries. Under this new ban, consulates will refuse adoption visas for any baby from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nigeria, or any of the 39 other countries.
