I am a recent physics graduate who doesn't use social media much. I identify as an Anarcho-Satanist. I'm not that creative myself so I only reskeet.

I won’t support additional funding for ICE unless we put guardrails in place to make sure ICE is better trained and actually focused on making our communities safer.

this may be the single most insufferable thing about the radical centrist caucus - not just extending good faith to obviously bad faith people but demanding everyone else do the same and chiding them when they don’t
A lot of our political discourse would be easier if we didn't extend good faith to people who would never extend it back.

bullshit. I dare you to find a single person who was exploded by a direct RPG blast to the torso and has anything negative to say about the experience.
this is why you should *never* hit someone with an rpg. it’s dangerous, it’s shitty, and it’s wrong

This has been without question the funniest part of watching progressive liberals discover mutual aid organizing
someone asks me to name an anarchist, I'm going to point at them and then prove to them that they already hold anarchist beliefs.
I mean. Yes I *could* but also if I did that they would kick me out of the Signal chat

Blueskyese and Xian share an obvious common root as both being Twitteric languages, the difference is that after the split Xian became a hybrid Twitteric/Channer-linkedin tongue, while Blueskyese changed less overall but did pick up some tumbleric and redditor loanwords
yeah Bluesky is primarily a Tumblric language

Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

i do think that a lot of what has been going on over the last decade has been gods punishment for allowing phoenix, arizona to exist. the temperatures there have made it pretty clear that it stands in defiance of the divine and yet the city has not been abandoned so far

the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

People gotta fuckin stop doin this. I won't vote for Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newsom will lose. I'm saying it now so y'all have time to listen, tho you never do. But nah I ain't voting for diet fascism just because he has a D. Candidates have to do what we want to get elected, there's no fealty here.
One should not vote for the demographics one wishes but the one they have.

If the CA Gov is popular, he is better than the alternative. This is a two-party system barring a Perot laying out millions/billions to be noticed. Which could skew everything anyways.

Here is another pro tip from me to you:

If you refer to someone as "he" and get corrected to "she" and then go "they" in response, you're gonna look like a big fucking transphobe right there probably because you are one

The most controversial thing I've said in a while but...

I remember hearing that Lego were once resistant to the idea of licensing deals because they felt a key part of the product's educational value was encouraging imagination outside those bounds and I think it's sad they changed their mind.

three years ago all the radical centrists got convinced via group chats that if we simply threw trans people under the bus, the fascists would let us win everything else.

instead we lost everything, and also trans people got thrown under the bus
where are people getting the idea that its either "supporting trans rights" or "continuing democracy". what kind of democracy do they want to live in. where "politically inconvenient" groups get thrown to the wolves every two to four years? doesnt sound good to me. why would you want that

yeah seeing the "Minneapolis took off because the so-called 'activists' got out of the way and let normal people in" takes is really frustrating. that's not at all an accurate look at what's happening in Mpls or anywhere else. All these movements rely on cores of people who have experience.
Lots of regular degular, never-done-an-activism folks have been activated in recent months and are working alongside a bunch of seasoned, die-hard, been-tired-for-ten-years-or-more organizers, and you don't know all of those stories bc most people are moving with a bit of discretion in these times.
