I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

"You’ve been given an app for reluctantly volunteering to run the book fair, an app for viewing your kid’s hastily prepared report cards, and an app for lodging complaints about our apps. Now, we’ll also be tracking your child’s whereabouts on three additional apps."
Our School District Can Now Keep Track of Your Child with Just Three Terrible Apps
Other than lawsuits, losing track of a child is every school district’s worst nightmare. We haven’t lost anyone yet, but an EdTech company has pain...

Too early for final results, but we're seeing — once again — losses for conservatives in school board races in multiple states. Stay tuned.

you can win without billionaires supporting you

you can win without party leadership endorsing you

you can win unapologetically standing with every persecuted minority pundits say are too politically toxic to touch

we could do everything about this process differently if we wanted to
Can’t stop thinking about all the robber baron fucks that held secret meetings and spent MILLIONS AND MILLIONS in bribes and campaign investments and attack ads and media manipulation trying to tank Mamdani currently having the dawning realization that their money is completely and utterly useless.

What tonight means for abortion access in the last Southern state where it's fully legal cannot be overstated.
Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

You'll see various websites tomorrow with election results in #Virginia.

VPAP.org is a long-time favorite for many and StateNavigate.org is a new one for this year.

Just make sure you have the official one from the Virginia Department of Elections open:

Restaurants are still putting PDFs of their menus on their websites 🫠😭
If you're going to think about AI at all, think about it like a normal product.

Companies are *still* doing digital transformation, adopting Agile, migrating to the cloud, and all that other shit that took off 10-20 years ago.

The window didn't close on any of it.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

More of this! Not everything needs to be 0 to 1, 24/7.
This blog post applied my "design as repair" framework and applied it to emergency medicine in the NHS as a hospital in the UK.

Super cool to see people talking about the real 'hidden' work and affordances we make to get actual stuff done. Worth reading. www.stemlynsblog.org/design-as-re...
Design as repair: what Emergency Medicine can learn (and why it is so hard)

No Kings protest in The Woodlands, Texas (north suburban Houston). This is the first such protest to occur in the community. I overheard a number of folks telling others that they had never attended such an event before but had gotten to the point of feeling they needed to do something.
