this is...kind of vastly oversimplified.

eugenics is the effort to use science to select for better genes.

if you're wondering what "better" means there...well, yeah, this is part of the ethical difficulties. 1
Shrug. Eugenics was bad because it involved racist pseudoscience and forced sterilization. If we're using "eugenics" broadly to mean "any effort to produce desired genetic characteristics" then there's nothing wrong with eugenics as such.
His “it’s not a eugenics company” tee is raising questions already answered by his shirt. www.cbsnews.com/news/nucleus...

5/7 Trump should not even be involved in these talks.

The US pays almost nothing while Europe funds nearly all Ukraine aid.

Trump also has less and less leverage except for the chaos he creates

4/7 Why?

Epstein emails showed Trump had direct contact with Russian officials. Epstein had compromising material on Trump. Blackmail is likely.

Trump always sides with Russia and pressures Ukraine

1/7 Trump Won’t End the War. Europe Must Make Him Irrelevant.

He has been back in the White House for almost a year. Promised peace in 24 hours, then 100 days, then 2 weeks. Nothing happened.

We are further from peace today than a year ago

7/7 Europe must act.

Release Russia’s frozen assets to Ukraine. It secures Ukraine, gives leverage, and makes Trump irrelevant.

‼️Stunning statements by the Belgian Prime Minister at an event in Brussels this week.

🔹It's an illusion that Russia will lose in Ukraine
🔹If they lose, instability is bad because of nuclear weapons
🔹I have been personally threatened by Russia if their assets are seized

Wow.

“Environmentalists said…”

I’m so sick of this dismissive framing by journalists.

In this case the “environmentalist” is Katherine García, who has a master’s (MPA) in policy analysis & program evaluation. Of course she’s 100% correct in her assessment that this will increase consumer prices.

Really good read thx. I'm still stunned that Witkoff and Kushner are conducting this negotiation. Common sense alone says they will have way more incentive to enrich themselves and Trump through crypto, real estate and mineral deals than to produce a result that benefits all parties.

But hey, it's okay when rich white Floridians do it...

Why Shame No Longer Works in American Politics
While it once played a role in binding society, shame has lost its power—and so have the liberal tools that depend on it.

I don’t want to be pollyannish about the past, but it was basically inconceivable twenty years ago that a president would say this publicly
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

i'd go even further and say there is a reason even nixon kept this kind of stuff to himself. you would have to go back quite a bit to find a point at which is acceptable for a president to say anything like this *in public*, to say nothing of in the oval office.

Huge army and navy to do an Anti-EU alliance with Ukraine is genuinely such a bonkers idea that I am kinda impressed. No one can accuse Glasman of thinking inside the box.
Not sure - 14 years into project - Blue Labour ever previously set out actual proposals before, so this is new

1. Abolish Treasury
2. Leave ECHR
3. Closr/refound half of unis
4. Double army size for anti-EU alliance with Ukraine
5. PM to lead grooming inquiry with arrest powers + televised trials
