It’s not the PM’s job to go to the water companies, instruct them to fix the systems they neglected so they could steal more money and jail execs, if they don’t. The PM’s job is to go on TV and explain that nothing can be done, convincingly enough so that the public don’t demand it get fixed.

Europe are buying some US weapons right now because they don't yet have a replacement, but we have all seen how quickly the US will switch off parts and other support if you won't surrender when they want you to.
