Waiting for America to be great (he didn't do it the first time either). Grandkids, good food, good design, goodnight.
Two game hosts elected to offic. One turned out to be Zelensky. The other turned out to be Trump. Someday we'll understand why.

There ya go...
ICE thinks Minnesotans will eventually give up, it’s like they’re unfamiliar with Vikings fandom

Proud to be part of this movement.
The government no longer does crowd size estimates, but I can confidently say the seven million people at the ICE Out protest outnumber the eleven people at Trump's inauguration

tbh I'm not at all proud to be an American right now. But I am proud to be a MInnesotan.
I've never seen a population more united. If people can hold onto that unity, if people can accept that different people will have different ways of confronting fascism, if we can remind NGOs and orgs that they can join but not control the resistance, then, well, people here will write history.

Same, duck. Tough day to be a human.
Going to bed early because I'm angry and sad and struggling not to be fatalistic.

Good night, friends. Rest up. You are enough.

What an embarrassment. @amyklobuchar.com, is there ANYTHING else going on in Minnesota that could grab your attention right now? ANYTHING?? Can we show you a few things? Cuz obviously you're not watching what's happening to your constituents.
I joined agriculture leaders from across the state today in Mankato for the Minnesota Ag Expo. Minnesota farmers are the backbone of our economy, and we must ensure they have what they need to thrive—strong markets and stable trade policies.

I believe this is the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
Ah, the overwhelming confidence of a mediocre man elevated by a narcissist to a position of power he hasn’t earned. Dripping with hubris.

I've noticed this the last few times I've gone anywhere in the cities. Traffic is WAY down. Weather? POCs choosing (!) not to go out? Economy tanking? Might be all three. But none of it is good.
Another bit of anecdotal evidence on economy slowing:
I just drove from West St Paul to Roseville during “rush hour”— hwy 52, 35E and 36.
Did not slow down once. Not even on the notoriously nightmarish 52 bridge to St. Paul.
Not quite Covid levels of traffic but not a lot above it.

Nearby St. Paul Mexican restaurant is routinely closed Mondays; it's drive-thru only now. Alternate choice was dark when I drove up today; normally they're open Mondays. We'll get to one before Wednesday. But it's sad. These folks are just trying to work. Ridiculous that they're being singled out.
Today in Minneapolis: my kids picked up dinner before coming over. They ordered okay, but when they got to the restaurant (India Palace) it was all dark. They discovered that it was open for pick up only and you had to show your order before they let them in.

A call to our better angels. May they outnumber those who want to end this experiment in democracy.
“Let us be those creative dissenters who will call our beloved nation to a higher destiny, to a new plateau of compassion, to a more noble expression of humanness.”

THIS is what ICE is doing. No idea what happy horsecrap gets to Noem and the other buffoons but this is what's happening on the ground and it is not their mission and it's not anywhere near humane. It must be stopped.
ICE ended up returning the man, Saly, after realizing he’s a fucking US citizen with no criminal record, per his sister-in-law. These fucking animals.

lol it’s gonna be stupid cold in the Twin Cities later this week. Could be one of those 48 hour stretches with temperatures below zero.

I’d wager there will be some -50°F wind chills up north.

Both organizations make doing this really easy. You can do it when (I hope) EBM opens tomorrow.
This is a great way to support immigrant families and a local business in St. Paul. Purchase gift cards at El Burrito Mercado or donate directly to Neighborhood House—helping sustain a local business while providing families with the resources they need to put food on the table.

This woman is my hero. Can we put her in charge of something?
This woman is harder than goddamn steel dealing with these goddamn thugs. I want her to be my neighbor.

I believe we're supposed to have Brawndo in every water fountain. It's got electrolytes.
I declare that on Saturdays, we will have Coke in every water fountain. It will be amazing.

Same rules in Saint Paul. Sadly, the situation is a little more nuanced than "bunch of lazy a$$es".
I’m in Madison and if sidewalks aren’t cleared within 24 hours after it stops snowing they can be reported. The City will warn them and if it’s not done ASAP the City will do the work and put the charge on their tax bill. We don’t hesitate to report the delinquents. Just a bunch of lazy a$$es!

Yechh-o.
See how the red line crosses the black line to the right? That shows above freezing temperatures about a mile up, and sub-freezing temperatures at the ground.

This is the signal for freezing rain/drizzle Sunday afternoon.

I was shopping at the Eden Prairie Menard's once and saw Kirby looking for something in the next aisle.

Man got around!
I ran into (literally) Kirby Puckett in the lobby of a red lobster on my birthday
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Okay, that was the nudge I needed to get out and do it (thanks). For true, the blower cleans down to the pavement in a lot of areas. I hope this makes tomorrow's cleanup easier.
Highly recommend shoveling/blowing now if you can. Sure mine is covered again but no slush underneath it!
Twin Cities friends! This is probably your last opportunity to shovel before the inch of slush freezes solid. It's brutally heavy so watch your back and take breaks!
