this country is extremely large and while this makes it hard for the kind of overwhelming protests we see in other countries to work (where one of the only the major cities is the capital, etc) it also makes repression on a large scale hard

"You cant blackmail us with Trump" was a response I saw online over and over and over again to Clinton and then Biden/Harris accurately describing the threat that Trump would be. And here we are.
Both Clinton and Harris warned voters very explicitly about all of this, but it was very important those warnings be twisted to suggest they’re a little too strident, too emotional.
