yeah this is what it comes down to for me. was Devers perfect? nah. could he have handled some of it better? sure. but the team repeatedly told him one thing and did another. it doesn’t matter how much you’re getting paid, everyone wants to be treated decently.
And you can criticize Rafael Devers for being unwilling to do this for the Red Sox still, I just think we should include the context that it started with them either failing or being unwilling to communicate honestly with their best player. He wasn’t just being an A-hole out of nowhere!

If Moriarty looks bad, it’s because people don’t value diversion and restitution, it’s used all the time, usually successfully, with legal consequences held over offenders’ heads. So unless you wanna build more prisons, don’t let media mete justice.
Both Mary Moriarty and Brian O'Hara look bad in the Tesla Scratcher case. Moriarty for not charging the guy who was filmed damaging cars, O'Hara for making such a fuss over Moriarty's decision.
