saw one other soul masking today and my first thought was “thank you,” but that’s also because I already spend too much time pissed off about the state of the ongoing pandemic, and I don’t only think about that when I see masked people, and I would never take it out on them/us
Wrote about how disappointing it is that Jon Stewart punched down on people masking at @motherjones.com, when people should mind their own business and leave mask wearers be. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Hey Jon Stewart, jokes about wearing masks aren't funny

I'm uninterested in convincing racists to be better people.

I want racists to be terrified, and I want public association with racists to be terrifying as well
This is exactly the racist perspective: any awareness of racism is performative shouting, the solution isn’t restructuring institutional power but persuading them, giving them veto over all remedy and casting blame for any failure not their recalcitrance but our insufficient persuasiveness.

PSA: You don’t owe anyone an explanation about the health reasons why you are wearing a mask.

Badgering others about the tools they need to survive is stigmatizing and ableist, and should have no place in decent society.

Donald Trump has effectively ended democracy in the United States. But one of the moms in my kid’s Montessori class drinks something called “structured water”. I have never felt more politically homeless.

According to the Lancet, vibrio infections have broken records the last three years in a row. They also degrade ecosystems & cause mass die-offs, including commercial marine species & coral reefs.

Experts say the cost of Vibrio is already in the billions & expected to increase with climate change.
Marine heat waves, intensified by climate change and pollution, are driving the spread of Vibrio bacteria worldwide — pathogens that can cause severe illness, including cholera and “flesh-eating” infections.
Marine heat waves and raw sewage combine to put human health at risk
Earlier this year, a spate of deaths in Florida caused by Vibrio vulnificus, known as the flesh-eating bacteria, made headlines. Infections of this kind are troublingly on the rise as ocean…

On DOGE’s watch, federal spending did not go down at all. It went up. But is still led to cuts that closed offices, canceled programs and deprived people of food, medicine and other aid.

Trump is surviving as the undisputed leader of the GOP while, in a letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar Epstein describes Trump thusly:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to "grab snatch"

Incompetent Dems, cultish Republicans.
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Only a matter of time until a UC Berkeley law professor writes a memo justifying torture, a brave Vanity Fair writer gets tortured to say whether it hurts, and we have a national discussion about whether certain people should be tortured for our safety.

BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.
