this is a thing people forget because they tend to think of their favorite actors as static in terms of skill. everyone on TNG and DS9, including Patrick Stewart, is a WORSE actor in episode one than they were by episode 60. it's good to force actors to inhabit a role longer! They get better at it.

The only issue with the show is that it's never going to get enough episodes to get good. The characters are very weak, which is something you have time to iron out with 25 episodes a season filming every year. The writers and actors aren't gonna have time to get better.
Starfleet Academy so far doing 90% of the good Star Trek things. Why did people dislike it? That is strange. It’s class Star Trek in every way. But I just started it. I have to watch the whole thing fast because I will have no streaming.
