ChatGPT is Trump's biggest donor? More than oil?! If that's doesn't suggest that the whole investment into ai is just a money laundering/passing on scheme I don't know what does. How much money does the US government invest in openai?

the AI craze may actually do more damage via creating additional unaccountable centibillionaires than by all of the other disruption it’s causing, which is considerable
The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

Between this and the story about the ice agents who ate at a Mexican restaurant and then arrested some of its workers when they were done, it's a reminder that these people reject even the most basic social agreements of hospitality and of helping others. They're sociopaths.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

50 new games a day on Steam. 350 per week. 18,000+ per year (as of 2 years ago).

Regardless of the quality of each individual title, that is an absolute mountain of new games that the market cannot possibly support.
I know it's meant in good faith but "if we just made smaller scope games and charged 20-40 dollars for them it would fix the industry" is very funny to me. indies release like 20 of those a week on steam. are you buying them? is the industry fixed? no? hm. sounds like you need a different solution

I went to art school...

I had no clue this is what people meant by "warm ups". Like, a whole routine? Each part specific and functional? Dang.

Probably would have less "forgot how to draw" days if I did these every time. I'm gonna try it.

In this story, there is a lot of support for trans people that you rarely see covered in the media unless they're being attacked. Businesses and individuals all standing up and saying 'I will not be a part of this' and I think that needs to be highlighted because it can feel lonely out there.

Look, I’m just gonna say it. I think it’s pretty fucked up that the liberal/social divide argues over Palestine as a bargaining chip in ‘24 when it’s obvious there was a concerted effort by media at large to bury the dem candidate regardless of who or why, and lend false equivalence to trump.

All of the companies selling properties to ICE have names. For instance, the company who sold a warehouse in San Antonio to ICE for their concentration camp here is called Oakmont Industrial Group out of Atlanta, GA and the members of their board are publicly available on LinkedIn. Thanks.
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.

I’ve won ten poker games in a row in real life and this happened. I was in a McMansion in Los Angeles so the dinosaur walked across a highway but same basic thing. The world went silent, all I heard was my heartbeat, I was clinking chips together but they were silent, the Dino crossed 6 lanes,
In Casino Games (1989, Master System), if you fold in poker 10 times in a row, you get this weird silent scene of a walking dinosaur. Silly Compile!

They knew this policy was so unconstitutional that they kept the “legal memo” authorizing this practice hidden, wouldn't let physical copies of it circulate, and a whistleblower had to alert Congress about its very existence.
