1. The commercial was done by Ontario, not Canada itself, which is run by someone in the opposing party to Carney. He had nothing to do with it.
2. Commercial was not "false." It was entirely accurate.
3. Reagan hated tariffs.

Stop just letting him lie constantly.
Trump on Mark Carney: "He apologized for what they did with the commercial. Because it was a false commercial. It was the exact opposite. Ronald Reagan loved tariffs. And he did apologize."

ICE Agent, 7-Year-Old Both Wearing Same ‘Military Commando’ Halloween Costume
I can understand people sometimes saying or writing "MaNdami" instead of "MaMdani", I've caught myself doing tha that one. Other than that, there's really no excuse.
...you disagree with is preferable to a fundamentally evil or corrupt person, no matter their policy decisions.

(If nothing else, refer to P. J. O'Rourke's endoresement of Hillary Clintion in 2016: "She's wrong about absolutely everything, but she's wrong within normal parameters.")
That's not fair at all. It's entirely reasonable to recognize that both Cuomo and Adams are repugnant and that reality is that Sliwa (who has his own issues) simply cannot win in a city as far to the left as NYC. And even if you disagree with Mamdani, he is a decent person, and a decent person...
...effectively end the very concept of the states being soverignities in their own right, or further modifying the Constitution to clearly define what powers are federal and which are the states' to exercise independently of the federal government.
...are unlikely to voluntarily give up the current system voluntarily, and changing the Senate is a change in the terms of union so dramatic it could be argued that it should open an opportunity for peaceful secession. Either that, or getting the overwheming majority of Americans to agree to...
...elected in single-member districts with ranked-choice voting and a second house by PR, basically the Australian system but without the Aussie's mess of a "preference trading" system for their Senate.

That does raise the question about what to do with the US Senate, though. The smaller states...
Well stated - the current idea of "coalitions within the two parties" and primary elections does not work, and the "jungle primary" system where the general election can be between two members of the same nominal party just makes things worse.

Personally, I'd prefer a system with one house...
What's insane is anyone valuing your opinion about anything.

Most people who actually live next to immigrants are just fine. It’s the people never exposed to anyone different from them who get angriest — and to whom Vance is appealing here.

Also, Vance is a sociopathic ghoul whose nativist bullshit would have prevented his own children from existing.
What an embarrassing thing to say out loud.
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do
So Tulsa is the new Austin?
Tactical voting as an actual election gets closer clears a lot of this up. If the UK wants to keep single-member seats for the Commons, though, they should just introduce ranked-choice voting.
That's even sadder than "Let's Go Brandon"...at least someone put the barest minimum of thought into that one so it has the right number of syllables.

She is a disappointment...sure, better than Cuomo but a particularly dumb raccoon would be better than Cuomo, and have better morals.
Ouch. Condolences to the staff, that's painful.

Good to see the train companies step up, at least that helps any stranded staff and passengers get home for the next two days.
And this is how King Charles spent part of his day today:
These people watched "The Man in the High Castle", saw that depiction of what a Nazi America would have looked like, and think "yep, we need that."

Steve is in the garden, smelling the flowers. It's been a peaceful day so far actually.
And he can't even get his evil right...he just denied a disaster aid request from Maryland specifically meant to aid two overwhelmingly pro-Trump counties in the west of the state.
He can't even be evil accurately.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."
