For some reason I decided tonight was the night to make cookies? Oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip. The heart wants what it wants.

I was working on a punch/elbow/knee/kick combo with my trainer today and someone coming in for the next class said “oh my go, you look SO badass” and I think I convinced them to come to our next Muay Thai class! Something that would have been unimaginable a year ago. So grateful for my trainer.

I usually create a thread of options for people who would like to donate to a Native cause or struggle, but it has gotten HARDER to fundraise on socials over the past couple of years, so I am zeroing in on one ask this year. Pls support Native organizing infrastructure: nativeorganizing.org/donate/

Why can I actually hear this.
The telltale heart but it’s just the turkey defrosting in the dryer downstairs

Agree with the argument raised here. Spoilers through Pluribus ep 5!

We just got home from the showing (imax, too loud) and I think they did a pretty good job of it. “For Good” kills me no matter how many times I hear it and today was no different.
My 13yo is super hype about Wicked For Good (we have tickets tomorrow) so today we watched Part 1 and The Wizard of Oz to make sure we were prepped with all the relevant lore. I’ve seen the stage show but she hasn’t, though the internet has spoiled some bits. I’m excited she’s so excited for it.

One year as a teenager I made 3 pumpkin pies for our turkey dinner, so we would have plenty of leftovers. I left the eggs out of the 3rd one. It just would not set up, for reasons that are now obvious. Finally I put it in the microwave and the filling boiled and exploded, making a large crater.
yes, hello, I would like to place an order for everyone’s funniest stories of holiday food-related family grudges / drama / chaotic incidents / lore

I feel like we need this

…ham drippings basted toddler…
16 years ago at our family Easter dinner, my cousin’s toddler wandered into my kitchen and pushed in the cutting board that was holding the ham roasting dish, and dumped the entire pan of warm ham drippings on his head. (He was fine, smelled delicious). She has never let me forget it.

Honestly crazy how no man has ever had any problem that oppressing women couldn’t solve.

Man, I love Pluribus. Absolutely buzzing with thoughts and questions after every ep.
In Pluribus, the unhappiest woman in the world is a romantasy author. @gavia.bsky.social discusses how the sexy pirates in Carol Sturka's Bloodsong of Wycaro shape her experiences with art and sexuality against an alien hivemind.

This is the latest I think I’ve seen dahlias still blooming in my zone (Portland OR). I snapped this pic this morning in my front cottage garden, which that is otherwise pretty much wound down for the season. #bloomscrolling #dailydahlia #flowerreport 🌱

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

Thank you so much for all the good wishes. Medical stuff is done and everything is fine and as expected. Grateful for SCIENCE!! and modern technology and caring nurses and medical staff. It was as good as that sort of thing could be, I think.
I am sad tonight and I have a hard week of medical stuff and personal stuff ahead of me. I would love a kind thought or a nice word.

I’m going to be real. I don’t think a system where progress is painfully, fatally slow and can be devastated at any time, setting society back for generations, is something worth fighting to maintain. I think we’re capable of coming up with something else.
