I lived 15 years in Vegas and got used to slot machines in grocery stores and gas stations, and that first weekend you mentioned. The current sports gambling environment is like swimming, which even though I do it 3x a week, I don't want to walk everywhere all the time with water up to my ankles.

I'm going to go with Lake Havasu City, AZ. There were brain-eating amoebas in the water, and a sign in my hotel room requested that I not use the bath towels to clean off a boat, and the ambience deteriorated from there.
