Sandman S2 (serial; 2025)

Sufficient, if rushed-feeling; not sure if Netflix wanted to wash their hands of Gaiman or simply lost interest As Is Their Wont... Didn't care for the remaining family's cast or the sets, & nothing rose to the level of S1E6. Still, it's at least An End.

"Is it ready?"
"I don't think..."
"Did I hear it's ready??"
"... let me check..."

Mustelids are not the most patient creatures on earth.

I feel like using traditional media again lately. I guess I needed a change.

Still need more baseball?

We found a CD in our archives containing dozens of unused voice lines from MLB Slugfest 20-03 rejected by the MLB. Here's some of our favorites.

I love Christmas but do we have to have it every year? Can we not have it every 4 years, like the Olympics?

still looking at a lot of the same For Sale signs here that went up the day after the election

we've been told the economy is great though
THE U.S. HOUSING MARKET IS OFFICIALLY FROZEN SOLID. ONLY 2.8% OF HOMES — ABOUT 28 OUT OF EVERY 1,000 — CHANGED HANDS IN THE FIRST NINE MONTHS OF 2025, THE LOWEST TURNOVER IN AT LEAST 30 YEARS (REDFIN).

I enjoy how our modern day crooked politicians and public servants make Tammany hall appear very quaint in hindsight.

Zohran Mamdani campaigned a lot and appears not to hate the voters whose support he's seeking. Here's what other Democrats can learn from his unorthodox strategy.

As a biologist, It really is a great analogy. Also trees. It's like saying, "There are trees and grass, you have to be one or the other." Ok... where is the line that defines "is a tree?" what about bush-like grasses? Palm trees? NON-tree palms? What about horsetails and their tree-like ancestors?

This is why I share my "napkin math" crunching the numbers on the the top comics charts creative teams because this kind of "complacency and built-in prejudice" is there, too:
Eight years after #MeToo, Hollywood’s progress for women behind the camera has flatlined. Only three studio films this year were directed by women: the lowest in nearly a decade. Richard Rushfield crunches the numbers and calls it what it is: a crisis

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"

The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
