I guess the silver lining in all this is that it's obvious the 2nd Amendment is useless as a protection against tyranny and might as well be thrown away

Ah yes, letting the secret police just do night raids surely fixes the problem
"I'm gonna give Homan the benefit of the doubt"

"They should coordinate with local law enforcement, pick these people up in the middle of the night when they're not suspecting it"

Walz is capitulating to fascists and encouraging night raids. Genuinely disgusting. Why would anyone settle for this?

This is unconscionable. Evil.

But it happened in May 2023, when Biden was president.

So no, we don’t “reform immigration detention,” we destroy ICE, CBP, and DHS. We can’t reform this soul sickness.
Anadith Danay Reyes Álvarez died in government custody.

She had sickle cell and congenital heart disease but couldn’t access timely and adequate medical care.

We need to reform immigration detention.

Sure is weird how much misinformation and rumors about Signal being insecure, being hacked by the FBI, being unnecessary and overkill for protesters, etc, have been circulating on the web lately. What a weird coincidence.

noticed a trend this week where both the right and some liberals have been like "just realized the left actually means what they say about stuff"
James O’Keefe responds to a comment

“Figured they (ICE protesters) were being paid…”

O’Keefe:

“No, it's more terrifying than that. It's not transactional.

They actually believe in their cause.

That truth is going to be hard for most people to understand or accept.”

Different rules for different people

So... y'know: fascism
Pretti was not protesting, but the actual rule is "Don't bring a gun to a protest unless you're coming to shoot left wingers, then it's ok"

Too many people lean on Nazi imagery to describe American fascism when Nazis modeled half their plan on America's own genocidal policies.

ICE isn't "American ghestapo," it's the same thing US police do, just without the PR. Their violence is required to sustain capitalism. We have to uproot it all.

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Anyone running for federal office needs to have this as an explicit promise of their campaign
The 2029 Pretti Good Act will establish a commission to identify all agents, create a detailed accounting of all acts, and hold criminally liable as necessary. Agents who voluntarily and truthfully disclose will be granted some leniency, provided their crimes did not include murder or torture.
When I say this agency [ICE and CBP] CAN’T be reformed this is why.
