You know it's serious when the Dems add a few more adverbs to their thoughts and prayers.
Press call with Chuck Schumer says he has been talking with his caucus "I've been talking to so many members of my caucus today. Everybody is very, very just totally, totally, totally troubled."

Starmer: I'm going to run on the opposite of what all labour voters want and materially harm countless people with cruel policies.

Columnist: it's baffling, why don't people like him? Even his "ban puppies and ice cream" policy doesn't seem to be improving his numbers!
Glad the FT is asking the question. Even if I’m not convinced they found a compelling answer.
I get that Starmer & Reeves are unpopular, I really don’t understand the extent of the dislike.

I'm firmly anti phrenology but I won't oppose this shift if it at least means the nonsense charts the HBD people post get more interesting to look at.
I *know* I shouldn’t share the NYPost but I got served this BUTT PHRENOLOGY article

And people should know that we have entered the era of BUTT PHRENOLOGY

I do not fear the Menswear Guy. what's he going to tell me about myself that I am not already acutely aware of. "you dress like you don't respect yourself" good eye ace
The fact the Menswear Guy is actively dunking on the Bsky user base now instead of just cross-posting the threads where he does that to Twitter users should terrify all of us.
true. that's bc you've allowed your sense of style to be narrowly defined by fashion brands, instead of thinking about it in terms of cultural history. over the course of the 20th century, many groups have dressed well, even if they didn't conform to fashion trends or bourgeois respectability

Given that trans people seem to have this extreme and unnatural advantage in park runs, swimming, weightlifting, darts, soccer, beauty pageants, chess, rugby, etc, should we be considering giving the military HRT and turning them all into super soldiers?
They're going after Parkrun again, you know, that event where lots of people of all ages, abilities and genders run around a local park and it not, in any form, a race?

I have a new idea for politics: parties come up with a list of values then we vote for them based on their values. They actually believe some things are good and some things are bad, and they take steps to address them. They aren't empty vessels waiting to be shaped by opinion polls.
April 19, 2025 at 10:20 PM
There were multiple factors for me but one of the biggest was just that I used to often discuss issues in psychology and was fighting a lot with racists, sexists and homophobes. Transphobia just went hand in hand with all those, and they somehow seemed the most unhinged so took a lot of my time.
genuinely interested by cis folks’ answers to the “how did you end up being pro-trans rights” question because a lot of people seem to’ve started with “no opinion/awareness” & grew to “fully down” thanks to social media, schools, trans coworkers/students, & THOSE ARE THE PLACES THEY WANT US BANNED.
