A friend of a friend is a US citizen, born in Texas to a Venezuelan family.

They were abducted by ICE today.
No news reporter should go uncorrected whenever they call this an "immigration crackdown".

When they are kidnapping people simply based on the color of their skin that is an ethnic cleansing.

This is not a dunk whatsoever, but I wholeheartedly disagree with the first sentence. I'm old enough that a friend in my K class got polio and she ended up in a wheelchair for life. I think not vaccinating is akin to neglect like not feeding or clothing a child. And yes I have a kid.
I do think parents should absolutely have the right to choose not to vaccinate their kids.

I also think schools, sports teams, and other clubs or activities should absolutely have the right to exclude those who don’t want to participate in keeping these communities safe by getting vaccinated.

If you want to turn a famous brand into a propaganda rag, you have to keep subsidizing the inoffensive sections of the paper so people have reason to read the stupid stuff.
According to an internal email to Washington Post sports staff, the paper isn't sending any reporters to cover the winter Olympics next month. The decision comes as major layoffs are expected in the coming weeks.

Not a single day should go by without at least one impeachment filing in Congress.

That they refuse does not make Congress effective, it makes them complicit. Nobody needs permission to file. And impeachment for corruption IS the ultimate kitchen table issue. That’s our money being wasted.

given the fact that the evangelicals have seized the public face of Christianity in this country and risen it to power on a platform of just hurting everyone who makes them feel weird...

this is something to behold. it feels like their death grip is cracking.
I think clergy from elsewhere have come in to protest and form a barrier between ICE and their targets…

Glad to see so many walking the walk.

The whistles are fantastic. That tactic - and a TON of the whistles - came from a group of organizers & activists in Rogers Park, Chicago, where Bovino and his goobermensch were before coming here. This is a global resistance.
Another question I came here with was: how effective are the whistles and honking? Does it stop abductions? And the answer is, surprisingly to my cynical self, yes, and often. I have talked to so many people who have successfully interrupted kidnappings.

Poll shows over 90% of Democrats believe ICE has gone too far- yet these 7 Democrats voted to fully fund ICE with ZERO conditions. Reps. Henry Cuellar (TX), Jared Golden (Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Laura Gillen (N.Y.), Don Davis (N.C.), Tom Suozzi (N.Y.) and Vicente Gonzalez (Texas).

Kids like Liam should be learning to read and playing with their friends. Instead, ICE is traumatizing an entire generation.

They're kidnapping kids, assaulting protestors, deporting citizens--all funded by our taxpayer dollars. And today the House votes to give them more money.

Abolish ICE.

It must be abolished.
