Author of THE REHEARSALS & FOR TWICE IN MY LIFE (Little, Brown) | ghostwriter (boo!) | prob crying at a sitcom right now | repped by Kimberly Whalen
This thread is a perfect illustration of why BlueSky is my preferred social media platform.
Home Alone makes changes to the Die Hard formula that render it hard for me to enjoy. The McClain character should feel overawed. And in theory having Kevin be a child versus adults achieves that. But the thing is: Kevin is a god. It's not just Tom & Jerry. This is some random punks versus Anansi.

Cool. Every person who created content that was then scraped and used to train Tilly should get a cut of her paychecks.

Zelle me, bitches.

Are there any Goodreads librarians who can help me? I just checked my Author Dashboard and I am hilariously and wrongly tagged as the author of Christian Saints Colouring Book. I hate to take credit for work that isn’t mine!

Hey, Albertans! Don't forget to contact your reps about Bill 9! If you want to write an email and aren't sure what to say, let me know and I'll share the one I wrote this morning. Let's protect our trans kids and voice our disgust at the govt's abuses of the notwithstanding clause.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Suicidal for centrists to be begging for moderation when now would be a great time to pass some big, ambitious policies and remind people why Democrats are better than Republicans.

We live here now, in the land of baseball, clenched jaws, and the relentless pounding of “let’s go, Blue Jays, buh buh buh-buh-buh” on the organ.

“Oh no, someone might eat food!”

Good. That’s good.

“They might buy something they like.”

Cool.

“They might get a treat!”

Also cool.
There's something deeply disturbing about EBT/SNAP hate to me. Like just truly bone blanching shit.

Same problem in publishing and film.

Everyone gets paid long before the writer, and then it's pennies on the dollar, if we're lucky.

People can't create like this.

We shouldn't have to create like this.

There's no product without us, yet we get told it's more important to pay everyone else.

There is a long-standing helium shortage. Helium is needed in hospitals (for MRI machines, respiratory therapy, some medical procedures) and should therefore not be wasted blowing up balloons.
