Journalism needs a new style guide for these times. As a start: if the basic material facts of the situation don’t align whatsoever with the official claim, you don’t have to repeat that claim. You are not mandated to cover the lies meant to obscure the facts, only the facts themselves.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. i don’t think it should be very controversial to think that LLMs are not conscious beings while simultaneously thinking that people who prompt them in hateful or abusive ways are likely hateful and abusive people and it is very strange to me that people actively choose either far end of this
