Something I wish got challenged more often in this “men in crisis” discourse is the blithe assumption (or sometimes outright assertion!) that everyone’s boss is a woman now. “Women now dominate white collar work and corporate management roles.” No they don’t. That just isn’t true.

Yes. A lot of this is downstream of educational outcomes becoming a status competition between parents, which I think has become significantly worse in part as a result of shrinking bourgeois family sizes bsky.app/profile/mort...
Yeah you would think the goal of education is to give important knowledge and techniques to as many people as possible but the way a lot of people (parents especially) want to approach it is a competition where the goal is to "win" and they get mad if you touch rankings or level the playing field
Not to lay my cards on the table but I think this narrow focus in online discourse on who deserves to be rewarded really elides the actual societal value of the education system (teaching members of society important stuff that it's valuable for them to know)

The decline of marriage in the west can be compared to the Subprime Mortgage Crisis. All of these marriages were actually weak internally and only propped up to save face. All it took was a bunch of smart activists to call bullshit and the institution of marriage and family started to crumble.

Separated and divorced men often find another woman to live with quickly because they are in shock about how hard life is when they haven't got a wife doing everything for them. Divorced women usually find life easier without the extra load.

I will no doubt read and enjoy all your very good Nuzzi jokes, but I also want to say earnestly, so many of us (myself included) are on the verge of being pushed out of this industry and it's genuinely so dispiriting to see the worst among us, ethics-wise, get such preferential treatment.
