Technologies generally persist until something better comes along to replace it, and unfortunately for the AI bubble and its hapless investors, AI has already been replaced with the significantly better technology of “not using AI”.
“Love it or hate it it’s here to stay” is a crazy thing to keep saying about a technology. If people don’t like using something it doesn’t have to stay we’re not talking about bad weather here

“Here’s your meal, full of delicious lead” I don’t want it. No thank you. “Well, what about if we just use lead in the cooking process? You can’t even taste the lead in the final meal” I’m leaving. “You’re being childish. Soon everyone will be cooking with lead” have you fucking listened to yourself

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything with a larger disconnect between the executive class and the general public than AI - there have been cases where executives want to push something they know is unpopular, but on AI it's like the backlash hasn't penetrated their bubble at all
What gets me about executives at movie/videogame studios being taken aback at consumer backlash to AI is that they seem genuinely surprised that we like the human beings that make the things that we like

Happy 97th birthday to the late, great sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, born 16 December, 1928!

Here he is in 1977, discussing how deja vu might be an indication of a changed variable in our computer simulation - 22 years before the Wachowskis made the phrase 'a glitch in the Matrix' famous.

I love this, so it cost more, took more time, looked worse and everyone STILL hated it. I can see why so many people think it’s the future 😂😂
The company behind the mcdonalds ad:

Imagine taking more time than it would take to do something traditionally. I bet it would take a builder longer to build a house out of jelly instead of brick, because jelly isn't brick.

Can all the folk who just got reminded that they’ve listened to a tonne of music on streaming this year, have a look at the music they heard and buy some on bandcamp today? 🫡🙏🏼

I assuume they are just having to hurridly reshoot the ending of every episode so that every white supremacist she finds just ends up with a senior job in government.
If true, this is extremely troubling.
Apple has pulled The Savant, its series starring Jessica Chastain’s about hunting down white supremacist cells across America, from its immediate release schedule.

Another one from the Institute of Slowly and Painfully Working Out the Surprisingly Obvious
One of those things
every worker
already knows
Conducting tasks while receiving e-mails and phone calls reduces a worker’s IQ by about ten points relative to working in uninterrupted quiet. That is equivalent to losing a night’s sleep, and twice as debilitating as using marijuana.
