The only aesthetically pure way to watch the original STAR WARS trilogy is these moldy grindhouse prints that were found and digitized a few years ago

You can see the OT the way it was originally seen: with the original ILM effects, in a dreamlike gauze

ENJOY:

This will not come as a surprise to any social media or internet researchers.

one interesting thing is how so many pundits seem to remember trump as winning crushing victories in 2016 and 2024
This is a myth. By most measures—trade being an important exception—in 2016 Trump ran as a bog-standard conservative Republican on economics: tax cuts for the rich, taking away health care from millions, deregulation, conservative anti-worker judges, opposition to minimum wage increases, etc.

Many feelings on this:

1) Crime is pretty much an out-in-the-open career now
2) Ha ha
3) The only real non-crime use for crypto is annoying people
4) Ha ha ha ha
5) Capitalism disincentivizes morals and ethics
6) Ha ha ha stop I can't breathe
A pro-MAGA website that urged supporters to fund a database unmasking Charlie Kirk critics took tens of thousands in crypto—then vanished, infuriating donors.

Trumpy donors say the pro-Kirk “exposure” project took tens of thousands before going dark.

1. We ( @jbakcoleman.bsky.social, @cailinmeister.bsky.social, @jevinwest.bsky.social, and I) have a new preprint up on the arXiv.

There we explore how social media companies and other online information technology firms are able to manipulate scientific research about the effects of their products.

The thing that gets me about Musk is that he’s so transparently unoriginal.

Optimus is recycled Honda Asimov, the “it’s so dangerous I gotta control it” is repurposed OpenAI narrative, the Cybertruck is from Halo… it’s all novelty meme garbage.

Sharper Image ass company.

BREAKING: Today, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum opened all 1.56 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s Coastal Plain to oil and gas leasing. These lands are sacred to the Gwich’in Nation, home to irreplaceable wildlife and wilderness, and have never seen industrialization.

I didn't realize how long he'd been doing this. As an artist, I get it. I have itch to "fix" older work constantly (books are never done, just published). But something Bob Ross said about painting resonated: a piece of art is a snapshot in time. Who we were, where we were. My work is a time capsule
"Why the big deal?" You say

What if i told you Lucas' first re-edit of Star Wars was in JUNE 1977? A month after release.

The history of Star Wars releases (and Lucas' efforts to control them) is a crazy tale

Wonderful story and photos
In 2002, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine's car broke down in the Ugandan town of Mbirizi. While waiting for repairs, he wandered off with his camera and stumbled on a small photo studio run by Ssalongo Kibaate Aloysius. That chance meeting sparked a 22-year journey to share Kibaate’s art with the world.
Review: How to keep a promise
Photos from a different time still need their space in today’s world. A commitment to archiving allows us to experience the stories behind them.

Americans want to watch charismatic people solve moderately difficult problems on a weekly basis. That’s it. And a group of fomo execs and techbros who don’t watch TV drove one of the most profitable industries in the US off a cliff rather than accept that.
Look what happenes when a TV show releases every year, with more than 8 episodes a season.

Yeah, I briefly considered that one before just sucking it up and downloading the latest Debian iso. Just seemed like more work to figure it out than another year or two of windows was worth.

okay i think this finally sums it up for me
I'm not emotionally attached to the White House as a structure or piece of architecture but I definitely don't care for what is for all intents and purposes Donald Trump scooting his itchy dog asshole all over the most recognizable national symbols

Alabama has just executed Anthony Boyd tonight.

Lauren Gill explained so much that went wrong in his case and trial. Important to not look away.
Alabama plans to execute Anthony Boyd next week with nitrogen gas for a 1993 murder.

No physical evidence linked Boyd to the crime.

He was convicted solely on the testimony of a co-defendant who avoided the death penalty by testifying against him.

God, I absolutely love that guy's channel. Half of me is worried that he's gonna heel-turn into some Mr Beast shit, but I choose optimism.
10 just hit end of support (modulo a single year of extended security fixes), you're pretty much stuck with 11.
