Most likely not going to follow you back. Tired writer. She/they. Social media is a performance and I have forgotten my lines. I like knitting and Les Misérables

I don’t understand people who are annoyed about babies crying in public. I hear one cry and I’m all “me too, kid.” They didn’t ask to be there and have every right to express their feelings on the matter in the way they communicate to their parents

Of all the sins of AI, this is an unexpected and deeply annoying one
Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

I really like the thoughts presented by this post and the one before it. However, I am a pedant at heart and know that Victor Hugo was not paid by the word and Les Misérables was not published serially. (Apologies for running off with this) 1/8
The "bedroom coders" everyone loves to romanticize were selling shareware. They were selling mail-order software. Victor Hugo wrote Les Mis as a serial for a newspaper and he got paid by the word, which is why it's so fucking long. Labor can only exist if society values its existence.

Turns out this was all much ado about nothing and Google isn’t using your Gmail to train AI and if wanna turn all that stuff back on you can get your spam filters back
Looks like the article has been updated to suggest maybe they misread the policy.

I see people complaining that this also disabled their spam filters, though I still see new messages showing up in spam so it's still working fine for me after disabling things.
