The way Dems treat Mamdani versus Platner... hm
"Not one senator said Platner’s tattoo or other controversies were disqualifying, and several acknowledged he’s bringing excitement to a party that has been struggling in the political wilderness since President Donald Trump took back power in January."

da fuc is wrong with these people
Senate Democrats tread lightly on Maine primary as new poll shows Graham Platner leading Janet Mills
Despite recent controversies, Platner has a huge lead in a recent poll and is drawing big crowds, while the two-term governor Mills is counting on her experience and achievements.

When I saw the movie, my first comment was that James Sweeney was living Xavier Dolan's dream.

one very funny thing Zohran Mamdani said in this interview: Bill Ackman has spent more money trying to defeat Mamdani than Mamdani wants Ackman to pay in additional taxes

"It isn't supposed to kill. It's just persuasion."

- Bella (Pushing Ice by Allister Reynolds) after ordering a nuclear detonation near another spaceship

I think @nuclearanthro.bsky.social would have something to say about that.
Based on how they wrote Prince and Dilly and some other relationships, I wouldn't be that surprised if Vicky and Charlie didn't have another scene together for two months before suddenly getting engaged. Soaps are going to move faster than real life, but we need to see the story beats.
Agreed on more happy stories. There needs to be a balance. I was watching some 2012 episodes, and I don't think we've had anything like Darren planning a surprise Valentine's Day wedding for Nancy or Ste and Doug falling in love while they work to start their own business.
2013 had seven deaths for the Hollyoaks Later week. I think they realized that was too much.

This point really upsets some folks, but it is true. Folks wonder why there's so much DLC, microtransactions and stuff and the answer is that at a $70 price point, inflation adjusted, games cost 75% of what they did in 2000 when it was typically $50.

Inflation is like that.
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising
We'll see. It will be hard on him, but I could see this alienating him from the rest of his family since both Clare and Froggy are twisted in their own ways.
I agree, but that doesn't mean that he should be living in the same village as John Paul or Nancy. There's a big difference between deciding a person doesn't need further punishment or to make further amends and thinking they can have the same relationships they had before they broke them.

Never mind every other single abominable or corrupt thing to this miserable moment, the extrajudicial and unevidenced execution of 34 human beings by the U.S. Navy on the orders of a U.S. President acting in peacetime is sufficient for his impeachment and conviction.

If we were a republic, I mean.
I'm glad they're not repeating the farce that is Warren's continued presence. It's bad enough that Grace isn't being treated as a complete outcast by people who should know better (Peri and Donny).
She had an option to follow Finn's path and go to prison, the show had closed that option from her. That basically left an option of a redemptive death, which she got by taking a bullet for Rex. It had the added bonus of creating a moment of tragedy where he finally believes she loves him.
In my opinion, by actively trying to restart the trafficking ring, Grace crossed a line that she could never come back from. It's a lot like Diane's son Finn after he raped John Paul. Even after he served his time and seemed contrite about what he had done, he couldn't live in Hollyoaks any more.
This is the second time three people have teamed up for a defensive homicide this year.

This was an appropriate end for Grace. She couldn't return as a gray character after crossing over into the black with the human trafficking plot.

California would be so much better if Democrats were willing to take on other Democrats to advance their careers and ideologies rather than waiting around for people to be termed out or retire.
I also appreciate his work with LGBTQ issues, especially those issues that most politicians wouldn't touch because they are more concerned about avoiding attack ads than doing what is right for marginalized people.
The other problem is his fixation on tariffs, which neither benefit him nor his supporters. There might be some room for bribes to create exceptions, but his primary motivation seems to be that he's too economically illiterate and too self-centered to understand mutually beneficial transactions.
I've watched soaps long enough that love isn't enough if someone doesn't know how to express it in a healthy way and that one person loving another doesn't create an obligation for the other person to love them back.

Only looking at love leads to excusing a lot of abuse and disfunction.
It looks that way after yesterday, but it frustrates me that he can be a giant shit and get away with it time and time again.
Because the way that he is loving her like only he can is hurting her. Promising more of the same isn't a good thing.
This isn't true. The Democratic establishment (in the form of the DSCC) backed Mills.

framing working class authenticity as something specific to white men is racist, sexist bullshit.
