I trust major news organizations, members of Congress, and public interest groups are publicizing their secure tip lines so DOJ and FBI employees with knowledge of political interference in the Epstein files review process, can explain safely and confidentially what they saw.

Doesn’t feel good that the head of BBC News Content is instructing reporters to refer to trans people with slurs. If this leak is real it raises questions about who made this decision, who was consulted, and why the BBC chose to ignore its own editorial guidelines on slurs and offensive language
EXCLUSIVE
The BBC has circulated leaked guidance telling journalists to describe trans women as “biological males”.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

They will not succeed — both because they are wrong and because, ultimately, such people always fail.

The only question is how many people will be harmed in the interim and what we, as people who care, will do to support and protect those being targeted. (This, to be clear, is not a new question.)

Re: the ICE actions in south Minneapolis Monday. DHS said "rioters" attacked officers with rocks and pepper spray. Note: I received lots of evidence and didn't see any rocks, the only pepper spray I saw was ICE agents sometimes spraying each other. I did see snow and possibly ice being thrown. (1)

people have often pointed out that his awfulness is part of his appeal to the hardcore base, and this is true

but his support has always extended outside that base, and a lot of people have made bargain of sorts: tolerate it in exchange for his power

when that bargain fails, so does he

1. This short thread is about what I see as a serious breach of journalistic ethics, in the making of Sofia Pineda Ochoa’s online documentary Greenwashed. She interviewed me for the film, but neither before, during or after was I given any idea I would be its target. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjWU...

Watching the right wing press meltdown over Zack Polanski gave me an idea.

Can we get #ZackDerangementSyndrome to be a thing?

I think ZDS sounds better than PDS. What do people think?

To those thinking Russia is winning in Ukraine:

Imagine if when we invaded Iraq, we were almost four years into it, only occupied 20 percent, and lost a million men.

Not a soul would call that “winning.”

Today in "Don't Trust AI to Tell You Facts": How several different "AI" programs messed up the simple fact of to whom I dedicated a book, and what that means for how much you should trust "AI" to tell you the truth about things (spoiler: not much at all):

Excellent post, and I think it is well demonstrated by the rise of Trump.

He made little attempt to be moderate or attract moderate voters. Instead he made sure to activate everyone in the socially conservative block and get them out and enthusiastic to vote for him.
Short new post from me about Bloc Politics. A lot of commentators have argued, with evidence from @profjanegreen.bsky.social, @robfordmancs.bsky.social and others, that British politics has split into blocs. So what does that mean for electoral strategy? 1/n

I always reflect on the response to the 'Rivers of Blood' speech. Powell expelled from the Tories, Wilson calling him evil. And yet Powells views were popular. His speech at the time was popular. Where is that spine now when these views have massively decreased in popularity?

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Wow, this is fantastic news! Now we just need to kick the GOP out of power in the government so we can take advantage of this.
This is incredible (good news too): “After a 40% fall in 2024 in battery equipment costs, it’s clear we’re on track for another major fall in 2025…The economics for batteries are unrecognizable, & the industry is only just getting to grips with this new paradigm”

Batteries now cheap enough to make dispatchable solar economically feasible
Energy think tank Ember says utility-scale battery costs have fallen to $65/MWh outside China and the United States, enabling solar power to be delivered when needed.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

I did speak to Graham directly. I sat down with him with a coffee. We both talked peacefully without anger.
He still calls me an "abuser" a "Stalinist" & mutters my name to his baffled mob who then sigh & nod like they've any clue who I am.
It's not true that he's different if only they'd talk.
Graham Linehan has such little self-awareness he *really* doesn’t understand how totally unhinged he seems in his ‘woe is me’ batshit crazy ranting! 😬

He’s the ‘cautionary tale’ of what obsessive ‘gender critical’ transphobia leads to: no friends, no life, and spaghetti carbonara for one!

2025 is ending better than it started for trans people.

The nonsensical FWS Supreme Court Judgment on 16 April 2025 was definitely a low point, both for trans people and the UK judiciary.

An important point to come out of the Sandie Peggie case is that 'gender critical' employees can't take matters into their own hands and confront trans employees. If they do that it is likely to be harassment/ bullying/ a hate incident.
