My big takeaway from the stranger things finale, besides its unnecessary runtime (just make it two episodes? JFC) is the excellent work by their sound design team, fantastic use of the rear speakers in a way I rarely hear shows do. Makes you notice the rear channels without being gimmicky. Big fun.

“Wrathchild” is Christmas music now
Iron Maiden was formed 50 years ago today… or close to it. “Well the band wasn’t formed on Christmas day as such,” Steve Harris clarified to ‘The Rock Pit’ last fall, “it was just around the Christmas period where the name was settled.” Posting the legend! 🎅

Another 10-11 months until I run the risk of having to hear shitty Christmas music again. Praise be. 🙌

It's possible the decision to not play another game is regretted once the team and staff sleep on it a night. But imagine thinking you were in the playoff then someone asking about your enthusiasm participating in a random bowl in the immediate aftermath.
Look I get it but they played in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl two years ago. My best guess is the players got together right after they got their hearts smushed and made a tough choice. I hope they don’t regret it!
I mean there’s definitely some lighthearted digs to take about Notre Dame being too big to grace a meme bowl with their presence

But most bowl games have been mostly meaningless for decades and honestly, good for the Irish for spending the holidays with their families & not at an exhibition game

That about sums it up. What a bummer.
Alabama played terribly yesterday, made their résumé worse, and didn't fall. Notre Dame didn't play, saw their résumé get slightly better, and fell.

What exactly is the point of conference championship games if they don’t actually count for anything?
I cannot believe Alabama didn’t even move after that garbage performance yesterday
