The world should feel dangerous and consequential to your players. Easy and fun way to do that is a TPK in session one. Players will learn your world is dangerous, and it'll be too early for them to be attached to the characters they get to replace.

The world should feel dangerous and consequential to your players. Easy and fun way to do that is a TPK in session one. Players will learn your world is dangerous, and it'll be too early for them to be attached to the characters they get to replace.
I simply can't fathom a society or government that sits on all this information for years without investigating, arresting, and putting every person implicated in those files on trial. A system that protects that kind of evil for any reason is a system that should be dismantled.
