Idk if this makes me sound elitist or whatever but ngl I feel that if you have to change a majority of things of a character’s design, extremely flanderize/ignore their personality, and/or disregard their story and context to like them, then you never really liked them for them in the first place.

I've had the same phone for 6.5 years. Aside from the volume button occasionally wiggling out, there's nothing wrong with it. So I'm gonna keep using it until it breaks. Because that's what I do with all utilitarian items: use them until they lose their utility. This isn't a complicated idea.
