Every single person who supports this is a moral failure and a fascist. You cannot be friends with these people. You cannot reconcile with these people. Your politicians of either party will not stop this.
Here’s the report from KARE. The boy is five-year-old Liam Ramos.

One of my faves....

“Unity is a great thing and a great slogan. But what the workers’ cause needs is the unity of Marxists, not unity between Marxists, and opponents and distorters of Marxism.”

It is sort of hard to explain exactly how infuriating the experience of watching videos out of Minneapolis is while reading about how congressional Democrats are more worried about being labeled "anti-cop" than voicing any meaningful opposition to an organization whose only purpose is evil.

man the US healthcare system is a complete fucking train-wreck! even if we switched to a single-payer system tomorrow, it'd still be utter dogshit, because of how unchecked just about every form of bigotry is *within* it!

I think the thing that told me everything I needed to know about the Democratic party is when Bush administrations implemented numerous erosions of our fundamental rights in the name of Homeland Security and gave corporations personhood, and Dems did nothing to roll this back when they could have.

In this analysis, German anarchists explore why Democrats' efforts to pacify resistance to Donald Trump remind them of the way that "democratic" repression of workers' revolts enabled Adolf Hitler to rise to power a century ago.

when i started transitioning, informed consent wasnt a Thing yet. i didn't get on hrt until five years after i was living as a woman full time. i almost killed myself in that time. do not wait.
hrt isnt scary, rle is fuckin scary, thats what kept me in the closet until i was almost 30, they still make people do it some places, like how many trans women heard about informed consent for the first time in the late '10s and went "oh shit for real?" and got on estrogen within weeks or days

I teach the ethics of social research and we explicitly study malpractice such as Tuskegee. This is an infamous 'trial' whereby researchers withheld life saving treatment. This study established the impermissibility of such research design in today's ethical frameworks.

someone who hasnt read any of the US's history. the US literally did slavery and mass genocide of indigenous ppls for the last 250 years nonstop.
school being canceled because the president sent armed thugs to harass and imprison the populace for voting against him should be the biggest domestic scandal in american history

If as a working class westerner, especially a white person, trying to understand all that's happening now, I'd suggest you read this book. And also read Lenin's 'Imperialism, The Highest Stage of Capitalism.' I promise you, Marxist-Leninist theory perfectly explains everything that's happening.
If you’re a working class person trying to understand what’s happening in the west, especially the US right now; red maga and blue maga fascism, and liberal “democracies” all over the west backing israel’s genocide, please don't read 1984 or Animal Farm.

Pick up Lenin’s 'The State and Revolution.'

Thank you. Somali mosques and churches in MN have been targeted with very specific misinformation campaigns by the right, first with anti-vaxx propaganda and then panic about trans kids. I’m trans and right down the road from her, and I would never wish deportation or an ICE encounter on her.

NOTE: She said the APPEARANCE of scientific debate, not the PRESENCE of scientific debate.
Inventing the trans version of blood libel and groomer panic, laundered by way of a pseudoscientific paper that literally surveyed parents of trans kids posting on anti-trans websites was a big part of it! From Littman to Cass, the appearance of scientific debate on transition has been weaponized.

This would be easier for me to believe if I, a British trans woman, wasn't constantly being screamed at to vote for Gavin Newsom on this website.

I'm afraid the Democratic base largely appears to be exactly as stupid as the Labour Party base, and in much the same ways for the same reasons.
As someone who volunteers in local Democratic politics I want to once again remind the Bluesky community that the Democratic base is your friend, and LIGHT YEARS ahead of the national party leaders on literally every issue
This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency.

Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.

Chuckling at the people in the U.S. who consistently shit on people who live in "red" states... Well according to others in the world, the entire US is now a "red" state. Not so easy to overthrow authoritarians, is it?
Important perspective from Greenland.

my mom gets my friend's pronouns right, talks about helping her with makeup, bemoans the fact that her parents misgender their daughter while also refusing to wrap her head around the fact she herself has two trans sons
I do have to point out that even with a more-accepting society, there is a gulf between "I am okay with queers" and "I am okay with my kid being a queer". People can support LGBT rights in the abstract and then get spooked when their own precious cinnamon roll makes them a "non-traditional family".

i am very worried there is an emerging consensus from "trans-supportive" cishets in the US that's basically "you can be trans, but not if you're a child". trans rights ok if they don't have to cede property "rights" over their kids

there is no trans liberation without youth liberation

I came out to my father not long after he said some stuff about how he thought the anti-trans stuff happening in politics was insane, and that trans people are just trying to live their lives. Figured that meant he'd be safe. He freaked out completely and we still don't talk. I was 38 at the time

And, again: my sisters and I still got the best imaginable outcome on this front. But the first of us to come out still had to overcome the 'but MY kid can't be trans' impulse.

I'm incredibly lucky in that my parents have been incredibly accepting of me, but when my little sister came out ~2011 (she came out first of three), she had to fight to get them to accept that she wasn't just making things up.

My dad's bi. He lost friends to AIDS. He did AIDS activism in the 80s.
