Not only is he confusing measles and chickenpox… he’s also pushing a eugenics agenda.

He’s claiming if you die from measles it’s because you’re “already sick”.

First, that’s not true. Many healthy children died from measles.

Second, sick people deserve protection too.

I’m only 3/4ths through this book, but I’m wrecked. Lots of people have correctly noted that it feels important, but (a) he’s a damn good storyteller, and (b) it’s hard to read this and not constantly see how the attempt to prop up the violence of western hegemony wrecks all our lives

agree with all this except, he did know what USAID did and thats why he targeted it. They was purposely culled the population. Musk and this administration are actively evil. not accidentally, passively evil. this is the plan.

The Supreme Court declared him a king after the Senate habitually refused to convict him

Like I'm no fan of Garland in other respects but this insistence that he could've totally put donnie trump in jail and just didn't because norms or something is bizarre
Joe Biden’s fatal flaw was relying on the reluctant institutionalist Merrick Garland to prosecute the case of insurrectionist Donald J Trump. Had Garland done his job, Trump would have been banned from office and America and the world would not be in this predicament.

Tl;dr: Lots of folks wanted Biden to use extra-constitutional means to respond to the coup attempt. That’s a reasonable position, but folks should have the courage of their convictions & own that. Otherwise, the only guaranteed constitutional solution was 👆, & again, you’re angry at GOP Senators.

also, ppl who are mad about or afraid of data centers now when they didn't care before are not being stupid or whatever - it makes sense. if suddenly they started building mcdonalds the size of apartment buildings that increased your power bill by 200% people would be right to be mad about those too

data centers aren't really the problem - data centers (and continued expansion of them) are a requirement for modern life as we know it (replies telling me actually we don't need them = instant block, if you don't understand what i mean do not interact with me) the problem is the irrational growth
Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

We face a terribly difficult task: restoring power to the legislature at the expense of the executive, restraining the judiciary's attempts to defeat this, & ensuring by these means that whoever comes after the next administration cannot simply choose to undo it all.
“America is dangerously close to a world in which all federal policy hinges on the outcomes of presidential elections, no matter how narrow the margin of victory,” Zachary S. Price argues:
Trump’s Power Grab Over the Budget Is Breaking the Constitutional Design
If this pattern holds, the result will be more wild swings in policy across administrations.

Actually, it's exactly the duty of an artist. To take a stand through their art.
"Any artist cancelling their show at the Trump Kennedy Center over political differences isn't courageous or principled—they are selfish, intolerant, and have failed to meet the basic duty of a public artist: to perform for all people"- Kennedy Center spokesperson Roma Daravi
Kennedy Center vows to sue musician who canceled performance over Trump name change
The Kennedy Center is planning legal action after jazz musician Chuck Redd canceled an annual holiday concert. Redd pulled out after President Trump's name appeared on the building.

I don’t understand how legal obligations do not apply to the president, any executive branch officials, or the Kennedy Center, but the strictest reading applies to performing artists.

In 2025, the US launched strikes on the Houthis in Yemen, al-Shabab in Somalia, ISIS in Syria, alleged drug traffickers in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, plus Iran’s nuclear program. Now some into Nigeria.

All killed people and damaged things, but none appear to have achieved anything lasting.
