There are going to be A LOT of misleading, vaguely-worded headlines — particularly from non-music publications — in the near future trying to drum up hysteria about the AI Music Takeover. Please try to not take them at their word. We're still a long way off from this actually being a thing.
I've been seeing this headline floating around. To be clear:

1) This is "No. 1" on a miniscule chart, The "Country Digital Song Sales" chart, as in people actually paying money to download country songs which is a tiny amount of people

2) The actual consumers are almost certainly fake

I waited a day to say this bc I respected everyone's right to vent some anger, but *remember to focus on what you can do*. Whether it's defending your community, taking action around what you've been venting about, whatever — but don't let all of your energy get captured in the social media space.

I propose an international law that once you become personally responsible for the murder of 1,000 people, be it via direct violence or policy, you are declared a dragon and adventurers can form parties to quest against you.

I was a fantasy writer. Only. 2016 hit, the world went to crap, & I got awful writer's block, even reading was hard. The stakes in fantasy were too high.

I read AUSTENLAND by @shannonhale.bsky.social in 2018. It was like I could breathe again. I read a few more Romances, and my block vanished.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

I loved fantasy as a kid. In high school I came to believe "mature" readers only read tragic classics. And I started to fall out of love with reading. One college break I picked up The Book of Three and re-read Lloyd Alexander's series with delight. After I gave myself permission to read EVERYTHING.

It really shouldn’t take that many words to answer a yes-or-no question.
CBS News' Weijia Jiang: "Did the president ever spend hours at Jeffrey Epstein’s house with a victim?"

Karoline Leavitt: "These emails prove nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong."

It was bad. No actually, it was terrible. Trump gave an interview to Fox’s Laura Ingraham, and with his guard down and no one to blame but himself, he really put his foot in it. And MAGA is pissed AF. My write-up in the replies.

One of the defining feelings in American life, for decades now, is elites doing plainly criminal shit and nothing at all happening as a result. It is deranging in a way that virtually nothing else is. Media fixates on perceived street lawlessness but shit like this matters much more in my opinion.

QANON CULTIST IN 2017: "In this 1,879 page thread I will unravel the byzantine system of codewords and phrases the global elite use to mask their pedophile cabal."

JEFFREY EPSTEIN WRITING AN EMAIL AT THE SAME TIME: "helo its me jeff had fun cmmitting sex crimes wit u lst weeknd"
pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

There is an explanation: the nation's leading anti-vaxxers see no urgency to ensuring access to this or any other vaccine.

Because they are anti-vaccine. Explicitly, unambiguously, anti-vaccine.

Access to the COVID-19 vaccines remains difficult because of an unusual and unexplained delay by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in accepting recommendations from its advisers.
The CDC still hasn't issued COVID vaccine guidelines, leaving access in limbo
