The running theme between the Epstein story, banning trans healthcare for minors, religious homeschooling and the complaints about adult children estranging themselves is a fundamental American belief that children are property with no rights of their own
America is a culture of child abuse. Ask any survivor - we find one another, we form networks and communities.

The true scale of it would stagger and sicken you, and so it is buried, it is swept under the rug, it is denied and the survivors are silenced by whatever means are necessary.
Government of pedophiles. They're all tainted with this for the rest of their lives.

Really appreciate the justified anger in this piece by @ryanlcooper.com.

The GOP's narrative about trans people "is and always has been a lie. What these people actually have is a seething, obsessive hatred of trans people. They want them either back in the closet or dead."

so like, i’m aware that it’s not a done deal that all dems vote no on this bill

flooding folks’ offices with calls tomorrow is probably a good idea if you care about the trans folks in your life
Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that bans gender-affirming medical care for any transgender person under 18, and threatens any medical professional providing this care to youth with 10 years in prison.

Tell Congress to protect trans youth and vote NO.
Protect Trans Care Now

The full House of Representatives will vote this week on the most extreme anti-trans bill ever brought to a vote.

It’ll be reported that the bill only bans care for trans minors.

But it would *criminalize* the care — doctors would face up to a decade in prison.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Not *nearly* enough noise is being made over the federal government (bipartisanly!) passing the first discrimination/segregation law since 1996 last night.

there is something so voyeuristic and exploitive about how these super early transition girls get catapulted into the public eye as the face of trans people—the public reacts shitty, they eventually get eaten up, we feel annoyed and resentful—everyone loses! feels by design

America is a country that will test UBI hundreds of times, get the same radically positive results each time, and still look at it askance, but will also put untested robotaxis on the road because a billionaire threw a shit fit.

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

“look at them trying to rip away healthcare from this tiny population while your bills go up” would be a good message but instead politicians say we’re a “distraction” which is just transphobia in another tongue
Now that Democrats are out of office, it just doesn't have as much resonance. Now, you could easily flip it to say "President Trump cares more about his ballroom than bringing down costs." It's hard to make anti-trans messages stick when coffee and bananas cost more.

The overlaps between trans health and reproductive health are evergreen. In reproductive care regrets about negative experience/harms of 'natural birth' are entirely dismissed, while regrets of 'intervened birth' are heavily analysed & used to restrict choice-based options.
2/2 Majority of trans people regret the effects on natal puberty this is not seen as medical regret as this is "natural" despite it being preventable. Natal puberty makes permanent changes. People should be able to have whatever puberty they want. Puberty blockers are a compromise and decision tool
