Big mistake to be loyal to any particular religion. As a free agent you can sign up with whichever religion is offering the best salvation package at that time

In Medieval Europe, Jews were sometimes forced to swear oaths of loyalty to Christian leaders while standing on pig hides. We're going to dark places here.
Good grief: a genuine, senior Reform candidate saying we should force Jews and Muslims to commit blasphamy to 'prove their sincerity to Christians'.

This is just straight up racism and the fact Reform can't disown him says everything.

good news everybody. that guy everyone thinks trump had killed to prevent him from testifying about how big of a pedophile the president is? turns out we had video of him dying the whole time that proves it wasn’t us who did it. and it’s very real
It's hard to tell what's actually happening in the video that purports to show Epstein's suicide but 1) the video is hosted at justice.gov and 2) it's in a directory called Data Set 8, which would be the next release.

It looks fake to me, but that doesn't explain why it's on the real DOJ site.

🍻 🧵Beer Advent Thread 🧵 🎄

This year we have a beer advent calendar from Letra. They have put together an all Portuguese advent calendar. 12 of their own beers, 12 from other PT breweries.

Today was beer #1, Letra F, American IPA, as hoppy as they come. Fresh, lovely, great start! #beer #beersky

This week, Professor James Hansen and colleagues published projections that the global temperature record could reach +1.7°C by 2027.
And if that number lands in your gut the way it landed in mine, good. It should.

Hard no to this: French publisher Harlequin has told translators that their work will now be done by AI. They can ‘revise’ AI translations at much lower rate. It’s a subsidiary of Harper Collins so treat this as a test for rollout elsewhere

Faites tourner, parce qu'il va falloir se battre encore plus. :/

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
