Sod New Year's resolution - LIFE resolution.
Man answering his phone on the train: Yes? Correct, I’m not at work (pause) I’m not going to answer that because I am not at work today. No, you’re going to have to ask someone who is. Goodbye.

More #buyastrangerabook day magic.

If there's a kids book you'd like to get someone for Christmas, @thisnorthernboy.bsky.social is offering to buy it for you (up to £20).

So, just let us know, if there's a specific book you'd like, and Rob will sort it out.

UK only.
I'd like to donate £20 for a kids book or two for someone for Christmas. Books are the best gifts after all.

I used to have a good few followers on Twitter. Many, no doubt, just bots, but many others who I really enjoyed interacting with. I miss folks who are only still there and not here. Perhaps you do too. But it is nicer with you, than in that place where it became increasingly hard to find the light x

Do jurors have the right to apply their conscience to a case or could it be a criminal offence for them to do so?

A recent hearing before the RCJ puts the centuries-old principle of jury equity on the line.

I’ve written about it for @prospect_uk

Is it criminal for jurors to act on conscience?
Judges disagree on whether juries should consider evidence alone

So why are NHS leaders and the newspapers sounding the alarm?

Well, the NHS never copes well in winter and this year is no exception. Also, I imagine they want to put pressure on doctors not to strike. 8/10

For London folk.
These wonderful people not only have a great shop window but they now have a pile of books signed by me. I did also write the books, if you’re worried – I don’t just go in and sign random books, they frown on that. Anyway, get your books from them.

✨ A few years back I stood outside Wells Cathedral for a full day and photographed the impact of the light on the front facade. I was amazed at the outcome - at how a single entity could morph and change under the changing light. 🌅 #thread

THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

A tiny bit of shameless self-promotion because the gifting season is creeping up on us. If you’re after something delicious, handcrafted, and ethical, my chocolate boxes, bars, and treats make really lovely gifts. Treat yourself, treat someone else, or both, I won’t judge! Reshares appreciated! 🍫✨
