The big city is too confusing for drivers to exist.
Was just a witness to a car crash on 4th Ave, where a driver blew through the red light at Holgate using the bus lane and then crashed into a car turning right into a business. The driver then got out and blamed "the new bus lanes" for confusing them as well as the driver who was turning.

There’s a video of ICE shooting a woman in the head.

What else do you need to see?
Let's wait for the facts to come out and demand ICE/CBP end their terror.

@mayorofseattle.bsky.social When will you ban cars in Seattle?

No space for drivers in the future. No more human sacrifice for cars.

You will lose.
Taking away our cars can, should, and will be treated as a declaration of war upon rural America.
I find "America isn't really set up for it" to be an annoying rebuttal to any sort of proposal to reduce car dependency. Our leaders used policy to create a system of car dependency and we can sure as hell use policy to undo that. There are absolutely barriers, but do nothing is not a solution.

it would be really cool if the primary mode of transportation in the united states did not routinely kill people prematurely. it would be nice if we did not have to have daily blood sacrifices just to move around the world.

Carbrains always want to impose costs on cities to subsidize car dependent sprawl.
It is more cruel to force people to live with (insured) fire risk than to build cities that would protect them.

This is like saying it's cruel to make car insurance more expensive, because drivers might stop driving if they consider the people they'll kill.

Unfortunately our politics are cruel.

We need a name for fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and children we can no longer can see nor hear because of the lawless secret police and their wildcat internment camps.

“The Disappeared” has an appropriate sense of dread and moral failure as a label.
Rev. David Black raised a stark warning: people are being held, transferred, and deported with little transparency and the public knows almost nothing about the conditions they while in detention.

Faith leaders are calling for accountability and truth.

Another child sacrificed to maintain driver comfort and ease in america.

Every steering wheel is glazed with the blood of the innocents
"A woman was seen on the ground screaming and wailing as two other women tried to comfort her."

This is 100% my biggest nightmare. It is increasingly dangerous to just *walk* around our cities, and our electeds are mostly asleep at the wheel while kids die.

At this vigil earlier, I actually watched a group of nearby residents come up and question the attendees on the specifics of the crash that killed Allie last night.

Were they hit in the bike lane? Did they hit the beg button? Were they wearing all black? Etc.

I could not actually believe it.
The person who was killed last night crossing Beacon Ave on a bike by a hit-and-run driver was named Allie. They were described as a "hard-core cyclist."

The vigil/protest is expected to take over Beacon and Stevens until midnight, if SPD lets that happen.

HAPPENING NOW: A group of protesters have reportedly taken over the intersection on Beacon Hill where someone on a bike was killed by a hit-and-run driver early this morning.

I'm not on the scene yet, but was sent this photo from Beacon Avenue and Stevens Street.
