I would absolutely love to give you a personalized book recommendation if you promise that tomorrow, not today, you purchase from Bookshop.org to benefit a Twin Cities bookstore.

MN protestors #protip put 2 Idaho Russets in the oven at 420 degrees for 45 min, take them out and foil wrap, 1 in each pocket before you go out. Theyll stay warm for 3-4 hours even in this weather and you can eat em when you like. They used to send us kids out like this back in the 70s trust me.

👀 Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., one of 8 Senate Dems who voted for the November deal, slams the House-passed approps package. His concerns include ICE. As a bundle, he doesn’t support it “without significant amendment.”

This still needs 60 senators to avert a shutdown next Friday. Stay tuned.

If you have read even a single history of fascism, you are already aware that one thing that its rise has in common in every case is an opposition party that refuses to intervene for fear of looking weak or putting the left into power

Three pieces of news in the last few days that you may have missed — all Democratic or progressive victories.

1️⃣ Pennsylvania's Bucks County quit its ICE contract, due to the new sheriff elected in November.
BREAKING: Dan Ceisler, the new sheriff of Pennsylvania's Bucks County, just announced he has terminated his county's 287(g) contract with ICE.

Ceisler defeated GOP sheriff who'd joined the ICE program in November, & ran on quitting it; we reported then:

A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

"i serve the Lord, not a draft-dodging coward" is the kind of phrase that would be slightly cringe online and is incredibly badass when being stated by a man surrounded by armed men threatening to murder him
it's incredible how if you put this entire dialog into the Left Behind series, it would basically work, but instead it's just IRL MN

I’m watching elections this Tuesday (yup, it never ends).

One is a rare GOP pick-up opportunity, in a CT district Harris carried by single digits.

The second is an Alabama special election the GOP is defending.

The third is the start of a Florida special DeSantis tried delaying.

Details here!

It is actually weird that women characters cant exist in games without someone modding to make them sexier for them. The individual mods are whatever but its deeply telling that it is omnipresent & its good to critique how people cannot stand seeing a woman character not have obvious boobs. 🧵
