Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

Someone suggested a city-wide strike. It’s a crazy idea, especially since organizing for a general strike takes so much time, but I think it could work.

If we can tell ice to get the fuck out of our city we should back that up with doing everything we can to keep our residents in it.
No family should have to choose between keeping a roof over their heads and risking being permanently separated from their loved ones by masked ICE agents.
Minneapolis needs an immediate eviction mortarium to keep our neighbors in their homes and safe from ICE.

I think, every so often, about how the student protesters in South Korea figured out there was a finite supply of tear gas, and then staged retreating marches that caused police to burn off most of it, before the big "bring your auntie and kids" marches that ultimately toppled the dictatorship.

Normally, when we leave for break or the weekend, I tell the kids to “stay safe and make good choices.” It’s a pretty solid motto.

Jason has been at every single call for responders I’ve been to. He was on the RR call when I joined at 6 AM and again when I joined at 7 PM. He is doing so much for the people of Ward 9 and the people of Minneapolis and I am so lucky to have him as my city counselor. Please help his family!
One of my uncles was kidnapped by ICE yesterday. He was always there for my family and even helped my family afford my graduation party when I graduated college. 💔
