Teen Vogue has become a top-tier political journalism authority and doing this the day before election day is just cruel.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

In June I announced that I was retiring from NYU after 39 years, but I am not leaving the field, or the fight for a public service press.

Today I can explain what I meant by not leaving the field. I have a new job: president of News Creator Corps. Read on. newscreatorcorps.org/2025/10/news...
I joined up with News Creator Corps by putting two and two together… Allow me to explain. - News Creator Corps

After more than 22 years, I am retiring from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. That place was my anchor for a long time. I had colleagues whom I adored and students whom I cherished.

my institution just introduced an IT Service Desk virtual assistant that has the same name as the person who runs the psych lab, and maybe this is a good reason why you don't give virtual assistants human names?

my friend @professorbasil.bsky.social taught me the phrase "good mental hygiene" and I am glad that my ethical stance against the use of ChatGPT and other forms of GenAI is also an act of good mental hygiene.

Rep. Raskin is 100% on target. The administration is setting Jews up as scapegoats for its destruction of higher education & research infrastructure. These policies don’t protect Jews bc they aren’t intended to protect us. I’m begging non-Jews not to buy into the lie that Jews are to blame for this.
Thanks @raskin.house.gov for seeing through the right’s smokescreen antisemitism and saying what we know:

We will never dismantle antisemitism with authoritarian measures that make Jews — and all of us — less safe.

Especially when doing so in the name of Jewish safety paints Jews as scapegoats.

Nothing scares me more than how little the average person considers the environment when thinking about technological "advancements." We're sentencing ourselves to death in the name of meaningless short term efficiencies

Big news! The Davie Village Pride Festival is back after a six-year hiatus marking a meaningful homecoming on August 3rd.

This year's #Vancouver #Pride Parade will have its route reversed so that it once again culminates in the heart of Vancouver's 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

2/2 I asked the officers to call the property representative & offered to give them the number. One gave my bike & trailer a cursoryblook. Said they didn't need to do street check but did one anyway. Admitted they were clueless about #Vancouver Fairview. Rotational, drive-by-policing sucks!

My least favourite maxim belongs to George Santayana: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Remembering the past is a necessary step in *repeating* its calamities. Trump has read Stalin and the rest, fine-tuning. Forget the fucking past.

It was a "nonevent" because thousands of people worked extremely hard to prevent it from becoming an event, you twits.
Yes, the Y2K software problem turned out to be a nonevent. But 25 years ago, The New York Times took it seriously, publishing over 100 stories.

Our tech reporter who wrote a front-page article on Jan. 1, 2000, reflects on the crisis that never was.
