here's my life advice: If there's a mildly politically aware teen in your life, gift them an onion subscription. Every once in awhile I hear quips from the teenager who I've gifted an onion subscription and it's the best thing.

True story: My Dad, who was the kind of macho dude that Clint Eastwood would have played, kept having his tools stolen on job sites. So he spray-painted them hot pink. They suddenly stopped disappearing.

"Kid," he explained when I asked him about it. "Men are fucking idiots."

The most interesting part of this story isn’t that the pipe bomber is MAGA. That was blatantly obvious. What should interest folks is that the FBI and DoJ hid that fact from you, and still haven’t made a statement. This info is coming from sources on the condition of anonymity.

What? A Trump supporter? Moved to violence by the president's conspiracy theories? Well, I never.

It is a long list.

Today in "America will do literally anything to avoid having replacement level rich country marginal tax rates & social insurance programs"
Hawley is pitching his colleagues — and Trump — on a new health care plan that would allow all tax payers to deduct up to $25K/person in medical expenses.

Hawley told us he recently discussed the idea with Trump: “I said...'no taxes on tips, no taxes on health care’, and he goes ‘oh I like that."

Not joking: has one reporter responded to his preposterous Sgt Schultz “I know nothing” schtick by immediately asking:

* Doesn’t this level of ignorance disqualify you as speaker?

* Do you really think we are so dumb to believe you?

* Do you think it is appropriate to insult the voters like this?
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Rand Paul: "Secretary Hegseth said he had no knowledge of this and it did not happen. It was fake news. It didn't happen. And then the next day, from the podium of the WH, they're saying it did happen. So either he was lying to us on Sunday or he's incompetent and didn't know what had happened."

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

A VC guy writing an oped in the NYT about how much he loves Waymo is all the proof I needed that I am on the right side of this one lmao
“There’s a public health imperative to quickly expand the adoption of autonomous vehicles.”

Would the author say the same about building bike lanes? Installing automatic traffic cameras? Requiring Intelligent Speed Assist?

All of those are proven to save lives — and at a fraction of AVs' cost.

Choose life.

Sounds pithy & easy, right?

Until you start applying the flourishing of all life, all kinds of privilege (as noted in the verses), to concrete policy and systemic choices.
