Dracula is not actually in this film it's still a good time though. I guess that was just marketing it's hard to say the brides of a specific vampire that you don't know.

And I don’t mean to say there’s no room for stories about Dracula as a tragic figure but by the time you get to his attempted invasion of London, he’s shown feeding a baby to his brides and sic’ing wolves on the infants rage & grief stricken mother, among other monstrous acts.

Brides of Dracula- not enough brides, not enough Dracula. Also it was boring. 1.5⭐
Silent Night, Deadly Night- fun, but petered out towards the end. 2⭐
Christmas Evil- unironically decent. 2.75⭐

Home alone- why is this a classic? The concept of this movie isn't appealing, believable, or interesting enough to engage me. He's like 8, he can be home alone, its fine, the concept of this movie is structurally flawed. The movie itself wasn't bad, it just exists. 1.5/5 ⭐ Brides of Dracula- the titular Brides didn't get enough screen time. The movie notably picked up when Peter Cushing was introduced as van helsing and the last 20 or so minutes were fun, but not enough to save this movie. Mostly I was bored. 1.5/5⭐ Silent Night, Deadly night- they gave the mc a backstory that explains how he got the way he is- without it feeling like exposition- and it greatly added to the world building. The lead actor wasn't great. It started to falter towards the end but I generally liked it. 2/5⭐ Christmas evil- wow, this was a movie. As opposed to slasher films today where the mcs are just emotionless mindless killing machines, this one was obviously a human who had been beaten up by life to the point that he couldn't deal and acted out, partially due to the convoluted and antithetical bits of society that most people who grow past childhood have become too jaded or world weary to care about. Was it done in the best way? No. Will you be able to suspend your disbelief enough to see it the way I do? Probably not. In addition to that there were at least two loose ends and the ending itself was a cop-out. It felt like some scenes didn't need to be in the movie and there were other scenes that should have been in the movie. Some bits were funny. This one is hard to rate but I'll settle on a 2.75⭐ out of 5.
