#technology-enabled
And it rose during the era of fashion magazine Photoshop horror and Heroin Chic:

ie. a crisis where technology enabled capital to pressure women to self harm in the name of beauty.

Time is a fucking flat circle.

We will soon be craving 10-year-old technology because it will only be Internet enabled and not AI driven.

I think the thing that confuses me most is that technology has enabled us to see, first hand, that the richest and most powerful Americans are more foolish than would seem *possible* in a rational world, and by and large we seem ok with that.

I hate all possible explanations of this.

Jesus fucking christ i hate how AI is just ruining all of reality.

This technology has just enabled a wave of scammers that we wont be able to stop.
Heads up for all my art friends that have an online store.

As House Democrats flirt with “compromising” with the GOP to preempt state AI laws, re-upping the warning @alondra.bsky.social and I issued last summer in @techpolicypress.bsky.social:

“Trump’s AI pledge is…a campaign promise to Big Tech.”

Dems must not cave.

She needs to be primaried hard like Bernie did to Biden

Problem is Biden still funded genocide and went back on a lot of progressive stuff and enabled fossil fuel wastes of time while China pulled ahead in technology

China is building sweatshops in America now

We need popular reforms, not puppets

Sucks that the technology that enabled the democratization of mass cultural production also had civilization-destroying downsides. Can’t win em all, I guess

Democrats are requesting an IG investigation into ICE contractors, including Palantir, Anduril, and ACADEMI (formerly Blackwater).

Glad to see my Senator signed onto this. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

…And again, the fear isn't necessarily candidate A gets elected over B (www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2... 👇🏾). The real problem is the loss of even the willingness to try to build shared consensus reality— i.e., the "AI" enabled epistemic crisis point we've been staring down for about a decade.…

One point that may have been lost: I’ve never seen this ad before.

It’s only when I searched for Mexican folk music tonight that YouTube started running it.

Google’s surveillance technology has enabled the government to selectively terrorize specific groups in service of white supremacy.
Listening to Mexican folk music on Youtube and they're running this horrible ad urging people to self-deport.

Fuck you Kristi Noem, and fuck you Google for taking her money.

I think it may be a kind of illness. Mass psychosis. A new communicable disease, always latent in humans, but enabled by new technology and knowingly triggered by those who always seem to know how to exploit others’ misfortune.

"The greatest threat we face today isn’t any individual leader or one government. It’s the technology that’s amplifying authoritarian tactics worldwide enabled by democratic governments that abdicated their responsibility to protect the public"

Irish tech journalism has precisely three articles:

1. Oisin McMusk has raised $118m for his GraphQL- powered AI-enabled dogball shaver.
2. A panel on why the technology they have in their LinkedIn headlines isn't going away!
3. CatballShaver's CEO, on why he expects revenue to triple next month.

#NovemberWorldbuilders 28

The Impact, the Days of Chaos are recent. But I haven't yet talked about the technology that enabled people to witness someone else's dreams. First, it was used in trauma therapy, then entertainment industry seized it, and then it got out of control.

Heya, #NovemberWorldbuilders! It's the last day of our HISTORY week. Tell me something about the more recent history of your world. What's something important that happened in the last 20 years or so from when your story takes place? Perhaps something that sets off the inciting incident

I’ll point out nonviolence has toppled many dictatorships and authoritarian states since MLK. Technology has also enabled comparatively bloodless revolutions to occur much more quickly.

We’ll stay the course.

A tired mix of the post-war and post-wall order was already fragile due to technology-enabled openness and the rise of China in particular, and when the main designer of that order also behaves erratically towards it then best we look for replacements.

I do worry that we’ve left DOGE to slither away without accountability or any transparency. Big Balls, anyone?

But what if DOGE was just the battering ram to get into government databases, rake the budgets, and then retool their technology in order to begin an AI enabled mass persuasion campaign?

TFGBV is any form of abuse enabled or amplified through digital tech and it’s rising fast.

“The self-proclaimed techno-utopians in Silicon Valley… have enabled this ruin. They’ve traded reality for profit and prioritized technologies that aren’t just soulless and amoral, but inhuman in the most literal sense of the word.”
