Excited to see the new paperback edition of Addicted to Lust *with a new preface*! I’m proud of the way the arguments in here about “moral incongruence” and pornography use have only received more empirical support in the past 6 years. Great deal on Amazon!

Important new FREE study by Amy Brooke Grauley. Experiments show when Christian leaders warn Christians against Christian nationalism, they're less likely to identify with it, especially if they don't have strong views on it yet. Effects are weaker in the opposite direction.

Elections shape outcomes, but they do not sustain democracy on their own. Deva Woodly reminds us that the true heart of democracy is found in social movements and civic spaces where people create trust, discover shared purpose, and turn ideas into collective action.

It’s a problem that a lot of folks can’t tell the difference between AI video reality.

It’s a bigly problem when the person occupying the presidency not only can’t tell but shares the fake video.

Wait: so the President of the United States shared a video of a fake news report, rooted in a conspiracy theory, that features an AI-generated version of himself promoting a policy that…doesn’t exist?

NEW from me: A group of Catholic nuns in New York — the Sisters of Charity of New York — are pushing back against Cardinal Timothy Dolan's praise for Charlie Kirk, saying comparing the activist to a saint is “confusing the true witness of the Gospel." religionnews.com/2025/09/26/c...

Would love to hear from folks who have contracted with various polling firms for their survey work. Good experiences? Recommendations? Trying to gather some options. Thank you!

it's not considered a cultural problem because people in prison are seen as deserving harm.

these vague cultural moral panics aren't about solving real problems. they're about asserting that current hierarchies need to be more rigorously enforced.

people care about men being lonely in particular because under patriarchy the belief is that men are entitled to women's deference/bodies/affection, and if they're not getting that, then there's a crisis.

Same! So incredible.

We had a collection of encyclopedias as a kid and I would read the sperm whale and giant squid entries over and over, and I can still see the small black and white pictures besides the entries.
