The King comes at me with his sword. I duck, brace my blade against my palm, and rise from my core, passing the razor sharp sword of my people from his hip to his shoulder, bisecting him. Inside, swirls of cinnamon and cream cheese. He is a king cake. I have been fooled. The witch's words ring true.

Holy shit this is amazing

Rarely does annoying liberals actually result in things being destroyed this badly. One of the strongest arguments against. "Go woke, go broke yet".

This is "don't go facist, even as a last ditch"

...that probably needs some work

Doctor:

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

An old Taurus rattles by my front porch. Headlights flashing between the gaps of tightly parked street traffic. "You're dragging. It's OK. Not quite my tempo." I say blandly, but there's a tinge of annoyance in my voice. An F-350 roars by at 80mph. I raise my fist up sharply. "Nope. You're rushing."

Today is the day I finally resurrect my RSS reader for blogs, feeds, newsletters, and podcasts. Social media was a mistake. We must return to the old ways.

The No-Tell Motel bundle on a wood grain desktop. It features a copy of No-Tell Motel, two keychains with the logo on one side and "7" inside a star on the other, the door hanger with Stella the cover model saying "Shhh...." and the Dice Tray, which is clearly an ash tray. The No-Tell Motel "Dice Tray," which has the logo in the bottom and "sleep among the stars at the Stellar Motel!" on the rim. Two sides of the Room 7 Keychain, which is royal blue with gold embossing and a gold ring. One side is the No-Tell Motel key logo, the other is "7" in the No-Tell Motel star, for room 7. The No-Tell Motel door hanger. On one side Stella the cover model says "Shhh...." and the other side says "Please clean! It looks like someone died in here!"

For me, this book is _ORA:CLE_ a sci-fi novel by Kevin O’Donnell Jr. Made a lifelong impression, I have bought it multiple times.

It's pretty random which books stand the test of time. For every acknowledged classic, there are a at least half a dozen books that are just as good and no one remembers them except one grad student or crazy bookstore owner.

Seeing people nonchalantly post stuff like makes me feel like I'm going crazy honestly.
A post from an academic on blue sky that says: "I'm learning about "prompt engineering" when asking LLMs to extract data. I now add this to all instructions:

Style
Be concise, analytic, and specific (cite page/figure if provided). If essential info is missing, keep going but flag Unclear and exact data needed. Never invent data.

For Indigenous People’s Day, I’d like to infodump about the Cahokia mound. Built near present day St. Louis around 1000 CE, it was a vast trade hub with a population of about 20,000. This made it the largest city north of Mexico on the continent, bigger than London and Paris at the time!
The Cahokia mound, located outside modern day St. Louis, Missouri. It is a large hill which is now covered in grass, under a clear blue sky.

I'll say it: I think its rly annoying and frankly amateurish that writers are constantly told their villains must be understandable or have sympathetic motivation to be interesting or realistic when all our big villains irl are in fact rich, stupid, selfish, trickster dillweeds and always have been

I think also about how it doesn’t matter if those girls ever decide to be dancers

What matters is seeing it was an option. That they can make the choice

Reading Spider-man comics is what first gave me my deep and abiding respect for materials science. We continually innovate with the development of incredible new materials that affect us in our daily lives.

Police officers who publicly declare that they’ll quit if a mayoral candidate they dislike wins the election are (1) usually bluffing—sure buddy, toss away that paycheck and pension—and (2) exactly the sort of cops cities would be better off without, ones who don’t see themselves as public servants.
