They also can't be hung on the existing signposts!!!! In theory the province is supposed to provide appropriate posts but like...when?
If you have to make the warning signs taller than a human in order for drivers to pay attention to them, it doesn't speak very highly about drivers' ability to spot pedestrians.

Ah, yes, Thanksgiving, the day I count my greatest blessing as an émigrée: that I never have to host Thanksgiving ever again in my life.

Being an American immigrant to Canada these days feels like that moment in Encanto when Mirabel climbs up into Bruno's tower and manages to rope swing across a crevasse and the second she starts to feel successful the ground starts fracturing away from her feet.

The extent to which I am queer & live with an intermittently acute disability cannot be overstated even though if you look at my life without context it looks extremely hetero suburban housewife. Consider this your regular reminder that you can't tell any of this stuff about people just by looking.

Periodic reminder: the vaccine efficacy of the pertussis vaccine drops below 50% at 4.5 years. You should be getting a Tdap booster every 5 years, not every 10. It is especially vital if you have contact with pregnant people or infants too young to be vaccinated.
After two infants died, the Louisiana Dept of Health under the leadership of the new incoming deputy director of the CDC, delayed notifying the public for months of a whooping cough outbreak. Instead, he ordered DOH to stop promoting vaccines. Pertussis is currently a national health crisis.
Louisiana officials waited months to warn public of whooping cough outbreak
After a whooping cough outbreak killed two infants, Louisiana health officials waited months to officially alert physicians or do public outreach. That's not the typical public health response.

Historically, the right to overthrow a tyrannical government is one you take when you're ready to use it, not one you're given, and it cannot be taken away from you by a law. It can be taken away from you in other ways, but they're pretty significantly extralegal as well.
While drafting the post-fascist Italian Constitution, they asked the leader of the Italian Communist Party whether he wanted to include a right to overthrow a tyrannical government. Togliatti explained that overthrowing a government creates a different regime of legality, whatever the text says
