At some point someone just needs to say “you are an indecent person, you are lying to cover the slaughter of defenseless men, you know you are lying, and even under the tenets of your own professed faith you will certainly burn in hell if you continue down this path”
WELKER: Isn't it possible that even the act of taking off a t shirt could've been part of an attempt to get attention for help?

TOM COTTON: Or it could've been an attempt to signal to another cartel boat to come pick them up and pick up the cargo

Which is it man because you can’t say ‘be more normal’ back-to-back with ‘be less judgmental’ without a hint of irony because that’s just positioning yourself as cultural authority & then demanding the type of grace that by virtue of your immediately preceding statement you refuse to extend to us
California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Thursday that the Democratic Party needed to be “more culturally normal” and “less judgmental.”

It’s a cesspool.
This is your annual reminder, from me, that Facebook launched Groups in 2010, meaning the company has fostered, repeatedly refused to ban, and defended its Holocaust denial groups for 15 years. A generation.

"When you encourage Holocaust denial, you get a Trump."

Trump hasn’t earned a single thing in his life. That’s why he was a bankrupted loser when that asshole put him on TV pretending to be a successful CEO, and is now a multi-billionaire as the most corrupt president in the history of the United States.

Laws aren't real. They exist solely on account of buy-in from society's participants. Once one side disengages, you no longer reside in a society based on laws. You live in a society based on power and armed force. I am begging folks to accept this so we can get moving.
Just legal Calvinball. Obviously lawless.

It’s just another form of the grift that always plagues school spending. Someone is getting a cut of each iPad the district buys. When my daughter was in HS the English teacher issued brand new, consumable (non-reusable) workbooks and said, we wont be using these, but I’m required to hand them out.

I am calling for Wilmer’s immediate release from NWIPC—he has NO criminal convictions, he poses no threat to the community, and he urgently needs appropriate medical care since ICE is denying him the treatment he requires.

I am grateful for Wilmer’s willingness to let me share his story.

it is absolutely unbelievable that the Trump administration is systematically persecuting Cubans and Venezuelans, the most Republican Latinos in the US. what are they doing

My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.
The part that I can't figure out is what John Roberts thinks he is doing. He used to seem to be a judge who was very attentive to appearances, I think on a theory that you can't draw too much attention to yourself without undermining your ability to continue to shape the law.
Every legal story now is either

Imagine if tech was built with the well-being of people in mind. This is a start.
Remember when the internet wasn't awful? We can go back to that.

Some friends and I have released the Resonant Computing Manifesto: a call to bring back such a time, to see if we can bring back a world where technology works for us, rather than against us.

RFK Jr.’s hand-picked anti-vax panel has removed any doubt about their obvious bias and destroyed any shred of credibility for their decision-making process.

CDC should reject this dangerous suggestion that will simply mean more babies die in the United States.

The entire right half of the political spectrum has gone all in on the idea that black people are uniformly less qualified for inclusion in politics, leadership, and higher education - and virtually no one has even mentioned it, much less raced to defend black Americans. It’s beyond belief.

Gavin Newsom spent the early months of Trump 2 having friendly chats with far-right extremists. He praised Steve Bannon shortly after he gave a literal Nazi salute.

Google "Newsom vetoes" for a long list of things he has fucked up for California. He's a snake and you shouldn't trust him.
You may have gripes...nobody is perfect, but Newsom has been a great governor. He's an excellent administrator, and if you want to join the circular firing squad which has destroyed progressive politics, be it on you.
