Like all terfs, they are totally complacent in their unaccountabilty. They use smears when they absolutely have to, otherwise their method is just to ignore, ignore, ignore until accusations scroll off the timeline. I've never been able to get a single one of them to even *acknowledge* this perjury.

Don't worry, if you go to Northwestern, you can "choose to identify" as trans, you just can't live or use the bathroom there
"The agreement places no restrictions on our transgender community."

Except whether they can play sports, where they can use the bathroom or locker room, what kind of housing they can live in, and what healthcare they can receive.

it's just respectability politics through and through.

calling someone a racist, a transphobe, an ableist, a misogynist, a homophobe or even quite famously; a bigot, is hands down far worse than the bigotry itself.

always has been. because it benefits power and no other reason.
I have no idea who Jennifer Forbes is, or what her views are, but unless she’s got an earpiece with someone else barking instructions to her, it’s pretty fucking sus.

No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

Thanks UK for more terrible news. New legal case says non-binary people aren't protected under 'gender reassignment' in the Equality Act which covers only those moving between binary 'biological sex' categories 1/2
1/🧵 An appalling judgement where the ET says Scottish Ministers also fucked up the law on non-binary folks’ gender reassignment protection.

Strongly agree. Once we’ve established that “politics” is just frottering flags, announcing crackdowns, saying “There’s no magic money tree” and interviewers asking politicians whether a lady can have a willy, it’s going to be hard to break out of that.

one more thought: some loser is going to say "oh you're not supposed to look that closely at it" and like, no; if you put a high fidelity-looking image in your slides, then you are signaling to people that they should pay attention to it. if you want it to look like a crude sketch, sketch it crudely
This is a big part of it, for me. Instead of glancing at the image and continuing to listen to the talk, I’m noticing that the table leg is connected to the chair, that the shirt buttons sideways, that the window bleeds weirdly into the wall. And wondering why the presenter didn’t notice or care.
It's also just distracting because usually the image has some weirdness to it, and it doesn't tend to add explanatory value. So if you're just adding them for ambience or to represent a generic concept, just use a regular picture.
