We restricted workers’ Charter rights because we’d rather funnel money to donors and hangers-on then pay people what they are worth is the official position of the Alberta government I guess?
I concluded this weeks ago. They didn't hide it.
The UCP didn't have to use the notwithstanding clause. They wanted to, in order to avoid an arbitration process they knew they'd lose.

It’s okay to name butts. It's okay to laugh about them. It is developmentally appropriate and healthy for toddlers (let alone fifth graders) to name body parts. We all have bums. What is the fear here? 5/

The annual federal report on MAID was released late last week. Out of the 166 people who self-identified as Indigenous that accessed MAID in 2024, 21.7% were from the territories (NWT, Yukon, Nunavut), where adequate healthcare is hard to come by.
