“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

-- Issac Asimov
This 🧵is super important to read, especially the writing contained in each attached picture, all the way to the end. And as a reminder, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights make everything ice is doing highly illegal. These kinds of tactics by ICE will inevitably lead to a shoot out.
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

There's no "training" to "reform" this culture of violence and impunity, the only solution is to eliminate the agency and fire everyone associated.

Before someone whines "but but you need immigration enforcement" okay explain to me exactly how this is "immigration enforcement." It's just thuggery.

This is the heart of it.

Any press coverage that gullibly paints this partisan punitive campaign of retribution as "fighting crime" or "enforcing immigration laws" is actively complicit in a government campaign to punish dissent.
whats missing from all the coverage is that the president is using the military to harass, brutalize and punish areas of the country that didnt vote for him

The past couple days have made it clear that arresting and prosecuting Johnathan Ross isn’t just the right thing to do, it is necessary to prevent future violence by ICE who have interpreted the situation as “we can do that to whoever we want”

There's a reason Jonathan Ross's first priority was his cell phone and his second was the handgun he used to murder a woman. The social media sizzle reel is all that matters to them.
ICYMI: WaPo, on why ICE always has phones in their hands: to feed the social media beast.

Today is what happens when the bullies who peaked in high school are suddenly thrust into positions of power/authority that they have neither the experience, training, or maturity to handle.

We have fallen so far, so fast. 😔

Exactly one Allied combat fatality happened in Greenland during World War II, and he was a Danish soldier on patrol killed in a firefight with a German weather station crew.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. In the IANS tech briefing today, I'll be recommending that businesses discontinue the use of X purely for liability reasons.

Whatever business value you might perceive, you're knowingly exposing employees to non-consensual sexualized imagery/CSAM. Literal definition of a hostile work environment.
Ask your employer tomorrow why they operate an official account on the Twitter/X web service that built a child sexual assault materials generation machine & why they tacitly approve of pedophilia. Have your fellow employees ask the same question.

New, from me: The Trump administration isn’t just using social media to shape a narrative. They view the world through a social media lens in a way that is plausibly corrupting their judgment and undermining their performance.
