If you see one, the most important thing to say is “WHAT’S YOUR NAME” because otherwise the person is gone for good, maybe. I witnessed one in an alley as the sole pursuit car, I was the only witness, I froze for a second and didn’t shout it in time, and the guy is just… gone now. I’ll never know.

The president is also signalling to his followers in and out of government what the party line on this horrific murder will be. That it's transparently false is almost beside the point. Indeed, publicly adopting the falsehood will fast become a loyalty test.
That he chooses the "me or your lying eyes?" approach, in the full knowledge that there are multiple videos out there, is a striking commentary on the nature of propaganda in the modern information environment.

The main reason the asylum system is so fucked in the UK right now (and leading to outcomes like asylum seekers housed in “hotels” for years) is not because we’re generously throwing money at them. It’s because the Tories hollowed out the asylum process and made it take years before final decision.
massively increase the number of immigration judges, make them real courts, and give as many people as possible clean in-out decisions within in 90 days is the 'install linux, problem solved' of immigration issues in that the solution is not really complicated, it's just really hard

Of all my favorite cities on Earth... Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Seattle, SF, Tokyo, Paris, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Ubud, and literally all of Italy: London has the worst food by far.
